Poem about a Poem

You should not write a poem to rhyme and earn a dime.

You should make sense and write the whole song to talk to a soul, in time.

The soul might be older or younger than your time.

Don’t keep thinking about your own prime.

There has to be more, whether you know it or not.

So don’t write poems, if the ‘more’ was ‘wrought’.
