Prologue
The ice arena in Montreal was home to two completely different worlds. On one side— the brutal, raw world of hockey, where the sound of bodies crashing against the boards echoed through the rink. On the other— the elegant world of figure skating, where every movement was flawless, almost like a dance on ice. Jack Harrison and Emma Taylor belonged to opposite sides of this arena— he, a hockey player known for his aggressive play, and she, a figure skater, the embodiment of grace and discipline.
Jack lived in the shadow of his father, a former hockey champion and now his coach, whose expectations were relentless. Every move he made on the ice was under scrutiny, and the pressure to be the best was growing heavier by the day. Hockey was his life, but lately, he had started to wonder— was it really his choice?
Emma had her own shadow— her mother, a former figure skating champion. She grew up listening to stories of perfect performances, flawless jumps, and medals that lined the walls of their home. But beneath all those expectations was a girl who longed to find her own path, free from the pressure of living up to her mother’s legacy.
Their worlds were never meant to collide. Hockey players were too loud, too reckless for her taste. Figure skaters were too delicate, too polished for his reality. But fate— or maybe just the unpredictable ice beneath their feet— had other plans.
One encounter. One unexpected mistake on the ice. And everything changes.
Between rivalry and attraction, expectations and dreams, Jack and Emma will have to learn how to balance what they want with what is expected of them. But love, just like sports, can’t always be controlled— sometimes, you just have to let go and see where it takes you.
