Prologue

If I knew my life was going to be like this when I came back I think I would’ve asked whatever higher power that put me here to rethink their actions. My name is Seline and I was quite the cockiest bitch alive until a mouthful of my own medicine ended my life. I was and still am the best weaver there is out there, but the Gods and Goddesses will always have their own opinions, am I right?

The day I spoke out about being better than Athena at weaving and quite literally everything else because… yeah cool, she saved her siblings, but what else did she do besides be just like her twin Ares? It wasn’t a battle between mortal and immortal the day she came down from her pretty little lair, it was actually a battle between the immortals. You may not know this… but these higher powers don’t just live in the sky and aren’t just a fairy tale and Medusa is very much real; she’s also my best friend.

We’ve all heard about greek gods and goddesses, hindu gods and goddesses, norse, and so forth along with the elves and other such kingdoms. But no one ever talks about the subcategories. I, Seline, live in the Theravada Kingdom, I have one sister and three brothers. One passed because he found a way to cut ties from this cyclic life. We sometimes still try and see if his soul is roaming the earth, but we’re always here and have yet to see the same hue so we believe that he was successful in erasing his soul. Sounds scary, but it’s possible. The word impossible that my father would love to throw around at Adonie was always proved wrong because “the word itself has possible in it.”

I am the youngest. Manara is the oldest, then goes Jogai, then Aroun, then Adonie who is no longer with us. I am like a firecracker that never shuts off and Aroun would tell me one day, I’d have to be careful about my firecracker ways or things would sizzle out, but I never believed him.

So that very day I was weaving a blanket and I was just chirping on and on about how Athena could never mess with me and then boom she showed up in my kitchen declaring a battle of some sorts.

We were summoned then and there and I was wearing my pajamas when we started the competition. I didn’t even get the chance to change, but what’s it to Athena to give people a chance to look better than her? Swear on my entire life she started weaving before they even said go, but Jogai stared at me with concern when she was already halfway done. I accepted defeat when I saw that 75% was already done and I just continued to weave with passion, not time. By the time she finished, bells rang and Zeus continued to let me finish because he wanted to see my piece.

At the end they declared Athena the winner and quite honestly it made me more depressed than I already am so that night I did the unthinkable and wanted to join Adonie. So I hung myself…
