Infectious Review - Phase 1

"** Currently on Chapter 7 ** The story is still in it's in early stage, but the author has a great story to tell! The reader experiences the story through the eyes of Wren; who had been infected with a disease no one saw coming, and has morphed into something even the doctors can't explain. I particularly enjoyed the reactions of the doctors when Wren did something "not normal", according to their testing, and we grow with her not only physically, but mentally as well. It is well captured to know the internal struggles of this character. Each chapter is well crafted and lets the reader yearn for more in it's final chapter conclusion. Absolute page turner and will follow this author and her work in a title that sums it all: Infectious!"

A Deadly Infection ☠️

"Good-natured, ponytailed Wren had never asked to be infected by the virus. She had been looking forward to her vacation plans with her boyfriend Nick and seventeen-year-old sister Evie. Unfortunately fate provided a cruel twist during their visit at the mall. A diseased man with an unheard of infection sinks his teeth into Wren's arm. She manages to fight off this man, saving Evie and Nick in the process. But by then the damage is done, and Wren is forced to hunt and eat the flesh of other humans. She is effectively a prisoner in her own body. For starters let me point out that 'Infectious' is very well-written. More skillful than much of the work I encounter on Inkitt. One of Author Lady Rowan's many talents is for showing what happens in her work instead of merely telling us. By 'showing' we experience more of what the characters are going through and allowed to form our own opinions about the their situations. We are not told to think this way or that way. Also, I must admit I love the horror aspects of this story. (I admit I admire well-written horror novels and I love reading Stephen King, though I try to hide that part of myself as a current romance writer.) At any rate I can't recommend this book highly enough. It's lots of gory fun that I recommend if you like a good scare."
