"A story about pacts, revenge, defiance, loss, love, suffering, torture and sacrifice. Not what I was expecting when I started this story with this title and summary, not sure what I expected actually. Well written, the third person views were fitting and it strangely worked well, even in the chapters where the location and the person of focus was clearly switched but still remained in third person. The plot was good and intriguing, kept me wanting to read more, characters showed growth through the story. Dilemmas were shown and resolved, sacrifices felt meaningful and threats were serious. The end was beautiful and tied up loose ends. "
