Chapter 1
Close to the desert’s center, there was a sanctuary full of life. It was an artificial forest,
covered by a glass dome with large holes , from which dragons were flying in and out. There were platforms
as well, covered in greenery like everything else. Dragons of many different colors were huddled on the platforms,
chattering away. One of the platforms had 3 dragons on it. “Quit stalling and just answer my question! ”, one of them
demanded. He was the biggest, with gills and small fins . His talons were webbed and his teeth were the sharpest of the five,
but his wings were smaller than most of them. He was an Ahydrus
-Ahydruses
-These dragons are adapted for swimming, and can stay underwater without needing
to surface for air due to their gills. Although they are accomplished swimmers, they are
much slower in flying than other dragon breeds.
One of the others sighed. He was the color of the desert sand, and his talons were the longest. He was a Taipor
-Taipors
-This dragon breed has retractable, venomous claws. They are the most common breed and inhabit the desert.
“For the last time, I don’t know who stole it”
On the other side of the yellow dragon was a dark green one. He was more streamlined than the other two, and was a Servion.
-Servions
-This dragon breed is native to the jungle, and they can easily blend in with trees or leaves and are the fastest out of all the dragons.
“Um….guys…his lunch is over there” the servion said. He pointed towards a battered wooden box on platform a few feet away. The Taipor jumped up. “I told you, Reef! You made such a problem out of it, when you could have just looked around!”
“Fine…but it doesn’t matter now that we’ve found it, Gecko” Reef responded. He turned to the servion.”Can you go get it for me, Jaguar”
“Fine.”
But at that moment, there was an explosion.
