Prologue
I woke up with a start, my eyes struggling to adjust to the darkness around me. Where am I? My heart pounded like a wild beast trapped in a cage. I scanned the unfamiliar room, but something about it felt... familiar. The eerie symbols etched into the walls sent a shiver down my spine. My vision was still clouded, a blur of shadows and shapes moving silently through the unknown. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear the fog, but it didn’t help.
A flash of memory hit me like a jolt—school. We were just there, weren’t we? What happened? The pieces started to fall into place, each memory clearer than the last.
Seconds passed before my sight finally sharpened. And there she was again—her eyes fixed on me, her red dress standing out against the dark room. Her gaze was unsettling, like she was studying me, waiting for something. My mind raced, bombarded with unanswered questions.
One by one, my friends stirred, groaning as they regained consciousness. But then I saw them. The police officers. Lifeless. Their throats slit, blood pooling around them in a red river. The horror of it all sank in as I realised the nightmare had only just begun.
