Summary

Three months ago, Megan found a genie. Two weeks ago, he was stolen away from her. Now, her best friend Jen is in charge of that bottle – and of Jake. Megan's a little nervous about that. After all, Jen doesn't exactly like him; she barely even tolerated him a few weeks ago. But the longer Jen's in charge, the closer the two seem to become. They seem like they're even becoming friends. Megan's not jealous, but Greg might be. He's starting to realize that something's not right in his world. And since no one can give him an explanation, his suspicions are only growing. To make matters worse, Megan's found another genie who seems to loathe her. She hates to say it, but he seems just a little bit evil. No matter what she tries, all her efforts to get him to warm up to her seem to backfire. So when Jake manages to go missing again, Megan has to wonder if she’ll be able to use this new genie to get Jake back. Will he actually help her, or will he do everything in his power to make it all even worse? 🔸Note: This is the third book in the Nobody Likes Megan McGowen series. 💠 A Quick Note 💠

Hi there!

Thank you so much for deciding to read my story, Wish You Were Here – it really means a lot to me. This is the third book in the Nobody Likes Megan McGowen series. If you haven’t read either of the first two books (or even if you have but need a little reminder on the broad strokes), then no problem! Here, I’m going to give you a brief rundown on the main points in the previous books, so that you’ll be all caught up and ready to dive right in to this one.

In a nutshell, here’s what’s happened so far:

Megan is a high school junior who decides to run away. At the bus stop, she meets a genie and, only half-believing him, wishes to be popular. Suddenly, Megan and her best friend Jen are overly-adored by the whole school – students and teachers alike. They’re also friends with the most popular seniors in school.

The genie convinces Megan to let him go to school with her. He calls himself Jake and ends up making friends with Jen’s boyfriend. Megan initially thinks he’s done it just to spite her, but she eventually overcomes her suspicions and the two start to form a meaningful friendship.

Megan invites Jake to dinner with her family. There, he tells her parents about his own family, including his two younger brothers. Initially, Megan thinks he's just making it up; she's surprised to realize that everything he's said about his life before being cursed is true.

Unfortunately, just as Megan and Jake grow closer, his bottle is stolen out of her room. Megan and Jen try to figure out who’s taken it. Ultimately, they realize that Tara, one of their new friends and the most popular girl in school (after Megan, of course) is the one who took it. Megan and Jen ditch school to sneak into Tara’s room where they find the bottle. While Jake is relieved to see that it’s Megan and Jen who have summoned him, he’s surprised to realize that it’s Jen, not Megan, who’s holding the bottle.

And that’s where this current book picks up. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoy it!
