Before you all are too deep into this story, here's a quick but important head's up. THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE STORY. It's intense, messy, violent and definitely not morally or ethically correct. It is not a sunshine-and-rainbows kind of story.
Here's what to expect:
• Gore: There's graphic violence, gore, and a fair amount of killing. It's brutal and unapologetic, because the world these characters live in doesn't pull punches.
• About the MMC : Reyansh Sehgal - Is not a classic gentleman. He is not someone you should expect morals, ethics and all those stuff from.
He is unhinged, toxic, dangerous and extremely manipulative.
He would do anything to get what he wants.
And when I say anything, I fucking mean anything.
The previous version (unedited version of this story) doesn't begin to show how manipulative and twisted he is. He is clinically diagnosed as someone incapable to feel or empathise with people, that's only shown briefly in the unedited version when he told Athira
"I cannot love you"
He meant it.
So, when you read about Reyansh now please be prepared for a considerably darker version of the man you knew in the unedited story.
Because we are going back to our roots "Draft Version Reyansh."
Things that still don't change...
There is No Other Women Drama. But there will be a whole backstory on why Reyansh is still a virgin till he gets with Athira.
He will not try to do anything to Athira when she doesn't want it. This is a Dark Romance book not a Rape Fantasy. Let me be very clear. I will never romanticise that shit.
There will, of course, be character development as the old readers already know. He will change. He will grow. His relationships with Athira will affect him, and the person he is at the end of his story will not be identical to the person he is at the beginning.
But character development does not mean I am going to strip his character of everything that makes them morally questionable in the first place.
I am not measuring him with real life standards. And if you ever come across people like this in real life... GURL RUN!
Some things about them will not change.
So if you already hated his character for being toxic, morally corrupt, manipulative, obsessive, or simply terrible people...
I fear you are not going to like his book even more now.
Because I am not rewriting them to make them easier to love.
• FMC: Athira Roy, our female lead, starts off naïve and overly protected by her family. She's been spoon-fed comfort and shielded from reality for most of her life. Her decisions in the beginning may be impulsive, even reckless — and yes, they'll frustrate you. But that's part of her journey.
• Their Relationship :Their relationship dynamic is full of power shifts, emotional tension, and uncomfortable truths. Consent and control are explored in grey areas, not black and white.
There's also a lot of slow burn, so don't expect love declarations right away. They do kiss and all that but it's not love initially. In fact, don't expect a lot of softness at all. This one takes time, and it burns through shadows.
