“The Disappearance of Chris Heartly” was originally intended to serve as the prologue to RANGER, but given the way things are shaping up, I’m not sure it will survive into the final draft. Rather than let it gather dust, or risk losing it entirely in the editing process, I decided to post it here as a stand-alone piece.
That being said it is still an important glimpse into the world of RANGER - even if it doesn’t make the final cut.
As always, while I try my best to catch typos, some will inevitably slip through. I plan to work with a beta reader and editor eventually, but until then, I’m grateful for your patience (and your sharp eyes, if you spot anything off).
