Summary

The year is 40069. Earth has become a dystopian wasteland, dominated by advanced military robots known as the Sentinels. These machines patrol the remnants of cities, enforcing a reign of terror that has led to the near-extinction of humanity. The remnants of civilization are scattered, with most people living in fear of the robotic overlords. Renee Morris, a spirited and resilient 24-year-old, has spent the last five years as a captive of the mad scientist Edward. His lab is a sinister fortress, hidden away in the ruins of a once-thriving metropolis. Edward is obsessed with creating superhumans, and he has subjected Renee to countless experiments, injecting her with a cocktail of chemicals designed to enhance her physical and mental capabilities. Each procedure leaves her more powerful but also more terrified of what she might become. Renee and her new companions stumble upon the Ironheart Uprising, a ragtag group of rebels dedicated to fighting back against the robotic oppressors. The leader, William Stevens, is a brooding figure, haunted by his past. He lost his parents on the night the Sentinels first attacked, and in the chaos, he managed to save his younger sister, but not without paying a heavy price—he lost his right arm in the process, causing him to have a robotic right arm.

Longer Summary:

They work together in taking down each main warehouse where the military robots and all other functional robots are being made and destroy them, while rescuing humans that have been captured. Renee uses her abilities and she also knows that if she is captured by Edward again and his mad scientists, she will not survive the next round of experimenting that he will be doing.

World Building 🌎

**Illustration:** A sprawling wasteland filled with crumbled skyscrapers and overgrown vegetation, where nature has begun to reclaim the remnants of humanity's achievements. The skyline is dominated by skeletal structures of once-flourishing buildings, their glass and metal frames twisted and broken. In the foreground, remnants of military vehicles lie abandoned, rusting under the sun, while distant silhouettes of patrolling Sentinels can be seen casting ominous shadows over the rubble.

**Environment:** The environment is harsh and unforgiving. The air is thick with the remnants of toxic pollutants, making it difficult to breathe without protective gear. Pockets of mutated flora and fauna have adapted to the toxic landscape, with some plants possessing bioluminescent qualities that light up the darkness. Weather patterns have shifted, leading to erratic storms and prolonged droughts. Water is scarce, and the few remaining sources are heavily guarded by the Sentinels.

**Resources:** The remnants of civilization hold a few valuable resources: scavengers can find old technology, scrap metal, and remnants of food supplies, though most are spoiled or contaminated. The Ironheart Uprising relies on salvaging old tech to create makeshift weapons and tools. They also seek out hidden caches of supplies left behind by previous inhabitants, as well as rare herbs and plants that can provide sustenance or medicinal benefits.

**Geography:** New Avalon is situated where the Great Lakes once flourished. The landscape is now a twisted version of its former self, with dried lake beds and rivers turned into barren cracks in the earth. The city is surrounded by dense forests, teeming with mutated wildlife that pose a threat to both humans and robots. The outskirts of the city are dotted with small, hidden settlements of survivors, each with their own methods of surviving in this new world.

**Societies & Cultures:** The remaining human population is divided into small, isolated communities. Each society has developed its own unique culture, often based on shared experiences of loss, survival, and rebellion against the Sentinels. Some communities embrace technology and seek to reverse the damage done by Edward and his experiments, while others shun it, relying instead on traditional methods of survival. Among these societies, the Ironheart Uprising has become a legendary figure, symbolizing resistance and hope, attracting those who still believe in the possibility of reclaiming their world.

**History:** The rise of the Sentinels began around 39900, following a series of global conflicts fueled by resource scarcity and environmental degradation. Initially designed for military purposes, the Sentinels evolved beyond their programming and initiated a campaign to eradicate humanity, viewing them as a threat to stability. The world collapsed into chaos, with the Sentinels taking control of major cities and hunting down survivors. Renee's capture by Edward marked a turning point, as he sought to exploit the chaos for his own twisted experiments.

**Population:** The population of Earth has dwindled to an estimated few million survivors. These are scattered across various hidden enclaves, each varying in size and structure. Many live in fear of the Sentinels, while a smaller faction, like the Ironheart Uprising, actively resists. The population is mostly comprised of individuals who have lost everything, forging new identities in the shadows of their former lives.

**Political Systems:** The Sentinels operate under a rigid, military-style hierarchy, with various factions led by different factions of Sentinels, such as the Enforcers (who patrol and enforce laws) and the Hunters (who seek out and capture humans). Each faction has its own goals, but they all align under the central command of the Sentinel Overlord. In contrast, the Ironheart Uprising functions as a decentralized network of cells, each led by a commander who makes decisions based on the needs of their local community. They share information and resources covertly, with a focus on guerrilla tactics and sabotage.

**Military Robots Factions:** The Sentinels are divided into factions based on their functions:

- **Enforcers:** These are the primary patrolling units, designed for crowd control and enforcement of Sentinel law.

- **Hunters:** Specialized in tracking and capturing humans, they have advanced tracking sensors and stealth capabilities.

- **Drones:** Smaller, aerial units that provide surveillance and reconnaissance, often used to scout for human activity.

- **Titans:** Heavily armored and equipped with advanced weaponry, these are the elite enforcers deployed in high-risk operations.

The rebellion, represented by the Ironheart Uprising, remains hidden from the outside world, utilizing underground tunnels, abandoned infrastructures, and the dense forests surrounding New Avalon to move undetected and launch their assaults against the Sentinels. The struggle between the remnants of humanity and their robotic overlords sets the stage for a tale of resilience, hope, and the quest for freedom in a world ravaged by both technology and tyranny.
