Introduction

Thoughts swirl my head. Will I be punished for my act of defense or will Richard Harderson get what he deserves? Principal Hix looked down at us from her high desk. "What happened in P.E.?" She asked in her usual mimp tone. I said nothing as the brickheaded jock began to lie. "I was going for the ball and I accidentally ran into Nick," he is the type to lie through his teeth if he knows that someone will be hurt from it. "I OBJECT!" I wanted to yell out as if we were in a courtroom. I wanted to speak, but who would believe me? This school is built on meathead supremacy. If you had big muscles, a brain the size of an amoeba, and belonged to a sports team, everybody loved you. I am none of those things. I am scrawny, smart, and I do not participate in any unneeded activities. Principal Hix looked between us. "What happened next, Rich?" Yeah, what totally happened next, Rich? His eyes bulged as he went on, "Out of nowhere, Nick started punching me! I tried to get him off of me, but he wouldn't stop for anything!!" Oh? So that's what happened? Once again I am made to be the sinner, and you, the saint? Why don't you tell her what really happened? Richard came up to me in gym and questioned me about the marks on my neck and back. I ignored him and moved away, yet he followed with a smirk on his face and glint in his eye. He slapped my back where one of my biggest bruises were. "What's the matter, Nick?" He whimpered and shoved me. "Did Daddy hit too hard?" He laughed hysterically as anger fueled inside of me. I once again stepped away, if I responded in the manner that I wished then my father may have actually came to my school. Suddenly, a thud and I found myself of the ground. Richard stood over me, prepared for more taunting. "Funny how you can only see it from the back, right Mike?" His friend Micheal Reed spawned beside him. "Yeah, man. What did you do last night?" They laughed, I didn't move. "What's wrong, Nick? We're you being too loud and lost your voice?" Richard continued. "I bet you like pain." They smiled. "Why not test that theory?" Micheal encouraged his friend's savage behavior. "Good idea, Mike." Richard's grin grew. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, in case I couldn't dodge his fist. I opened my eyes at the moment of his attack and found that I had caught his fist. I dragged him down and placed myself upon him. He had no time to react as I plunged my fist into his nose. People gathered around, yelling for a fight. Richard tried to move, but he was unable. I secured my position and beat him until he had more bruises than I did. I had no idea what happened until the coach pulled me off of him. Now, we sit in the Principal's office, a mangled jock and the dork he let beat him. Principal Hix never asked for my side of the story, she saw it as a wrong on my part. I assaulted the school's precious quarterback. If he wasn't on the football team then no one would care. "Nick," Principal Hix called to me. I looked up. "I'm contacting your father, you are suspended for the rest of the week." My head lowered, I hate Mondays. Principal Hix left the room and Richard laughed. "You're all big and bad until your dad gets a hold of you!" I looked at the dumbass that is daring to risk his life just to degrade me. "Fuck you." I say in a lowered tone. Richard heard it. He did not like it. I was lifted from my seat and held by my shirt. "What was that, dork?!" I sighed and looked him in the eyes. "Let me spell it out for you, playboy wannabe. F-U-C-K Y-O-U!!!" Richard's eyes filled with rage as he raised his fist. "OH, YOU'RE D-" Principal Hix almost destroyed her door in an attempt to quickly open it. She looked at us. Me, a ragdoll in the hands of Richard. "Richard, detention. Nicholas, your father is waiting." Every bone in my body broke as she finished her sentence. Richard dropped the human jelly onto the floor. I stood and wobbled to the main office. My father, clearly high, but trying to hide it. He looked down on me. To everyone else he simply looked disappointed, but to me, he had the eyes of a psychopath. "Thank you for bringing me my son, I will see to it that he is rightly punished," he said so sinisterly. His hand rested on my back as I shivered. We walked through the door, no one seeing the tear that fell from my eye. We sat in the car, he turned to me and his face completely changed. I stared into the eyes of the devil himself and prepared for a week of hell.

"YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING BASTARD!"

He began his legendary yell. It always comes before the mythic torture.

I couldn't find a way out of this prison if pain.

We were in the car, but there were No Doors.

Bumble71: I want a man just like Ghost! This story was so beautifully written, the will they won’t they plot at the start was suspenseful, from pig tails to adult hood. Angel basically stayed the same throughout, strong and independent, I liked that. The way in which they both healed each was beautiful. Great...
