*Third Person POV*

Inside the Fae Realm

“She shouldn’t exist. She will be the end of everything.” her voice was quiet, “We haven’t found the other two, she has to die.”

“How do we do that? She isn’t allowed in our realm. Not to mention, how do you plan to get away with killing the executioner’s daughter without repercussions?” the male asked.

“Send a message to Tyson in the Demon Realm. He wants a rematch,” she answers.

Three Months Later

“Hey, Dara, have a drink with us!” Blaze yells over the music thumping in the clubhouse. “Celebrate a little. You work too much.” As he speaks he sends a low compulsion with his succubi energy, attempting to sneak past her barriers again. Trying to keep the energy below the radar of the negative essence he feels infiltrating the club. Knowing she will decline again, her shields are damn near impregnable. Attempting to tie her to himself and Dane. She turns her head, long honeyed brown hair hiding the amused look in her green eyes.

“Tig, pour three shots of ’shine, the blackberry one.” Dane tells the new prospect. His eyes tracking Dara. She is gonna run, again. “C’mon Dara, just one. We are celebrating!” The whole club is celebrating the latest run being over. It seems like everything tried to go sideways on this run, nothing went right. The truck was sabotaged halfway to Charleston, tires slashed, and then the Breakers tried like hell to say the weapons were short. Complete clusterfuck! Now they were back in Murphy and it was time to blow off some steam.

“Sorry guys, I have things to do,” Dara shouts over her shoulder as she heads for the door. She does have things to do. Her legit businesses need to be checked on and she was informed of an issue that her infiltration team had run into and it was a top priority job. Not to mention the evil aura in the club was pushing at her hard, almost felt like it was targeting her. These recruits that Prez has brought in over the last few months felt off to her. She could swear that she saw Tigger’s eyes turn to black flame. The other new guy, well not new, is a nomad. Bastard, his road name, gives her the absolute impression of a demon, making her very happy that her contract with this club is almost over. Just a few more months and she can disappear again. The door slams behind her when she walks out into the warm night air, heading to her heavily customized Harley. The only thing still original is the frame, which makes her smile a real smile.

A hand grips her wrist as she gets to her bike. “Dara,” Blazes says to her gently. “What do we have to do?”

“I have made it very clear that I am not going to be anyone’s old lady and I am not available. I am here to do my job, like my contract says.” She tries to let him down as easily as possible so she doesn’t piss anyone off. “I really don’t have any time for a personal life and the club girls are available for one-nighters.” She swings her leg over the seat and touches the screen to start the bike. “Please excuse me, apparently there is an issue at my security company that I have to deal with.” She says over the rumble of the bike. He steps back.

Blaze watches her pull away with a smirk, he finally marked her. Feeling her energy flowing, his smirk drops in surprise. She is at least part Neriad, calling to his Naiad. Dane swears he can feel Dryad is her. In his confusion, he misses the black flame eyes watching him. The demon’s jealousy makes him miss the flash of water energy that slips through the man’s aura. All Tigger can see is red that the human dared to touch his dark one.

Heading back into the rundown building that houses the clubhouse, his mind is wondering what else she is hiding and he has to talk to Dane. Not here though, too many ears that might figure out that they aren’t completely human. Prez is already giving them some weird looks lately. He reaches the bar and sees his best friend knocking back the shots of moonshine. Like he would get drunk, he is a demi-god. “Let’s head out.” He suggests to Dane. They get up to leave and Tawney, one of the club girls, stops them.

“Wanna have some fun, Dane? “ She asks, her enhanced breasts pushing almost completely out of the tank top she is wearing. “We could make it a three-some, I wouldn’t mind that at all.” She looks at them suggestively. Her fake blonde hair teased out and looked like a rat’s nest. Apparently, she thinks it makes her look sexy. It just made her look cheap.

“Sorry, we are just leaving. Tig could use a blowjob.” Dane blows her off.

“He is just a prospect!” She almost screeches. “I want to be an old lady and I want one of you. I mean you are the two hottest men here.” She believes she should be an old lady, but her only purpose here is to be a club whore. Blaze pushes past her and we head to the door.

An hour later, they are at their apartment. Blaze grabs a beer out of the fridge and one for Dane. “I marked her. We should be able to track her now. She is part Neriad. Which is weird since it’s just a tracking mark. I shouldn’t feel her energy like this. I can’t help but feel like something went wrong.” His confusion is evident. “You think she has more power than we thought?”

Dane leans back on the worn, black leather couch, just thinking about what little they know about Dara. She is fast and fierce in a fight, probably the deadliest person in the club, and she is contracted to the club for private assassin work. He takes a few minutes to respond, “I think that we are caught in the middle of something and we have no idea what is going on. We are ten steps behind and should be double that ahead if we want to survive. I told you we should avoid the gods. Just because I’m related doesn’t make it safer or easier.” Golden light fills the kitchen that is visible from the living room, a seven-foot tall man with long dark braids appears. His silver eyes look at Dane intensely.

“Damn boy, I didn’t know that Freya raised any whiners.” the God Tyr tease his nephew. “I found some information for you boys. Well, Hel did. It seems that your boss likes to make deals with demons and not the lower level ones either.” Tyr sighs. “Apparently, one of the big boys is crossing back over soon. His name is Tyson and he is supposed to be dead, killed by the assassin Chaotic Death. I guess he tried to kidnap one of the fae executioner’s grandkids.Since she can’t cross into earth realm, she hired Chaotic. Interestingly enough, he sent over a hellhound first, a nasty piece of work that has boasted about seeing Chaotic in action and knows who they are. Says it’s a female.” That makes Dane sit up and look surprised.

“The most elite assassin in all of the realms is female?” Blaze asks. ““I apologize Dane, you were right. We have to start getting more information ahead of time. Fuckin Demons and now Chaotic Death? What’s next Loki gonna show up?” He takes a long drink of his beer. Tyr and Dane both inhale sharply.

“Boy, we do not bring up the tricksters name. Ever! As far as I know he is sitting this one out. He is leary of Angrboda, he knows something about that one and he isn’t talking. He even went to Utgard to sit this one out.” Tyr responds. “The egyptians, the romans, hell all of the pantheons except us and the greeks are sitting this one out unless it’s war. And if we can’t stop them it will be.”

“The only thing we know so far, is that the club is somehow involved in all of this. The demonic energy has been steadily rising over that last few months. Blaze finally got a tracking mark on the woman, but getting close to her has been a massive failure. She does her job and leaves. We know that she has private companies outside of the club that she keeps very private. All we really know about her so far is that she is contracted to the club for security and private take-downs.” Dane informs the God. “She shows no interest in any male in the club and flirting with her is like seducing a stone."

“The only information Loki did give us before he ran and hid, is that this women is a major player in what is coming. Yes, we know he knows more, but he isn’t talking and even hid the seer he got the info from. Dickhead is afraid of something, which scares the rest of us.” Tyr sighs. “I have to return to Asgard. There are still many records and legends we are researching to help as much as we can.” Light flashes again and Tyr is gone.

“ My bad. I really should have listened to you.” Blaze acknowledges Dane’s smirk. “We should not have asked your grandmother for a mission because I was bored. I got overly intrigued that she said we would find our mate. Bright side, at least we know it isn’t Tawney!” He laughs nervously. “Right? Shit. I need some water time. I can’t feed as an Inccubi because every damn female either repulses me or is repulsed by me. How does that even work that a woman is repulsed by an Inccubi, maybe she is related to Medussa.” He rants.

“We can head out the rez tomorrow. The shaman said we could rest there whenever we want and we can also ask him to talk to his gods to see if they are also sitting this one out." Dane needs some time in a tree as much as Blaze needs water. The last run took entirely too long.
