"What an amazing story. It follows Odette, a woman from this century who opens a tea room and discovers the place is haunted. Instead of being frightened away, she finds comfort in the presence and uncovers a mystery that had my heart racing at times. The imagery throughout the story is vivid and immersive, and the dialogue between Odette and Henry felt heartfelt and genuine. I was completely drawn into this story from the very beginning."

"This is a story that really does have it all. We've got murder and mystery, paranormal goings on, and love and tragedy, all meshed together in a really compelling way. It's a story that's had me looking forward to my afternoon tea break every day for the last couple of weeks just so I can find out what happens next. It originally caught my eye because it's set very close to where I live and every time there was I local reference, I couldn't help give a little, excited squeak. I'm so very pleased that I found this, the writing is beautiful, the plot is gripping and the pacing is just about spot on. Can I think of anything negative to say about it? Honestly, I really can't. Mae has done an absolutely fantastic job here and I would recommend this to anyone looking for their next good read."

"This charming story unfolds in a cute litte Englisch tearoom. Underneath the light of a lighthouse, at the edge of the rough cliffs of Dover. Where the past refuses to stay buried. This cosy place soon reveals a darker undercurrent. A lingering tale of Family betrayal that seeps trough into the present. Through Odette (ma Belle Mére 😉), we follow a curious and determined girl whose search for a calmer life brought her to this magical place. The search for the truth of the origin and the past of this place, brings her every day a little closer to the ghost of Henry. As she uncovers more, his presence grows from a whisper into something almost tangible, blurring the line between past and present. At its heart, the book is about love, family, and the weight of secrets. The quiet certainty that truth, no matter how deeply hidden, has always a way of surfacing. And while this might sound like the perfect fireplace read, I can confirm it also pairs surprisingly well with a sauna session. A very big thank you to Mae, my dear, slightly unhinged (in the best way) friend, for crafting something so charming, enchanting and a wee bit eerie.
