Chapter 1

Faith Daniels stared out the window of her dad's car as they drove into the quiet town of Cedarville. Trees lined the road like guardians of a secret, and small houses sat calmly as if waiting for her arrival. Everything felt foreign. New town, new school, and no friends. Her heart ached as she thought of her old neighborhood, her church family, and the life she had loved.

Her father, Pastor James Daniels, had accepted a calling to lead a church in Cedarville. Faith knew it was the right thing—they always followed where God led—but she couldn't shake the feeling that her life had been turned upside down. Her mother's gentle touch on her shoulder gave little comfort. "God has a purpose here, sweetheart," she whispered. Faith nodded, but her heart was still heavy.

The house they moved into was small but cozy, with creaky floors and sunlit windows. That night, Faith lay in bed, whispering a prayer she wasn't sure anyone was listening to. "Lord, I don't understand why You brought me here. I feel alone. Please... just help me." Tears streamed down her cheeks as she drifted off to sleep.

In her dream, she stood in a meadow bathed in golden light. A voice, gentle and strong, echoed around her: "You are not alone. I am with you." She woke up with those words still ringing in her ears, a quiet peace beginning to rise in her heart.
