Chapter 1: Summer Serenity

The warm sunlight filtering through the cabin windows danced across the faces of four friends, all laughing and chatting as they lounged around the cozy living room. Jordan, a 17-year-old brunette girl with a bright smile, was reclining on the couch, her feet propped up on a worn coffee table, playing on her phone. Her closest friend, Justin, an 18-year-old short brown-haired boy, was sitting beside her, chillaxing and playing around with apps on his phone.

Nick and Nolan, 18-year-old twin brothers with light brown hair and contagious energy, were watching a funny show on television, laughing it off. The spirits were in full swing, and the air was filled with their cheerful banter. The cabin, nestled deep in the woods, was their summer retreat, a place where they could escape the stresses of their job training program they had attended after graduating high school, and just enjoy each other's company.

The atmosphere was carefree and relaxed, with the only sound being the occasional chirping of birds and the rustling of trees outside and the soft hum of the air conditioner.

As they continued to enjoy each other's company, a sudden knock at the door broke the serene silence. Justin got up to answer it, expecting it to be one of the other cabin guests or perhaps a delivery from the nearby town. However, when he opened the door, he was surprised to find a small package waiting on the porch, addressed to all four of them.

"Hey guys, we got a package!" Justin called out, holding up the box.

Jordan looked up from her phone. “Interesting.” She said. “I wasn’t expecting one. Let’s have a look, boys!”

She and the twins immediately stopped their activities and gathered around Justin, curiosity etched on their faces. The package was small, wrapped in colorful paper with a shiny sticker on top. There was no indication of who sent it or what it could be.

“I wonder what could be in this, and hopefully it’s nothing bad.” Justin said.

"Let's open it!" Nick then exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Yeah, I’m gonna go with what Nick said.” Jordan said. Without hesitation, she carefully unwrapped the paper to reveal a small, intricately designed box inside. The box had a sweet aroma wafting from it, and a colorful candy was visible through the transparent lid.

"Whoa, candy!" Nolan said, his eyes widening.

“Yummy!” Nick added.

Justin carefully opened the box, and they all peered inside. The candy was shaped like a miniature castle, with sparkling sugar decorations and a tempting aroma.

"Why would someone send us candy?" Jordan wondered, but her curiosity got the better of her. “I did not expect someone to send us this.”

“And it’s shaped like a castle!” Nick pointed out.

Justin thought for a moment. “Hmm, let’s give this candy a taste and see what the flavor is.” He said.

Without another thought, they each took a piece of the candy and popped it right into their mouths. The sweet, sugary taste exploded in their mouths, and they all smiled at each other, savoring the delightful flavor.

“Mmmm!!!” Jordan said. “So delicious! What do you boys think?”

Justin beamed a bright smile. “I like it!”

“Very good!” Nick and Nolan said in unison.

Little did they know, their lives were about to take a dramatic turn, one that would transport them to a world beyond their wildest dreams. As they swallowed the candy, a strange sensation washed over them, and they began to feel drowsy.

“I… I feel weird,” Justin said tiredly. He suddenly stifled a yawn. “Whoa, I feel sleepy all of a sudden..”

Jordan collapsed to her knees, feeling her head getting light and her tiredness taking over. "What's happening?" She yawned, her eyelids growing heavy.

Nick yawned and then also fell to his knees. He rubbed his eyes and tried to stay awake, but he struggled.

Nolan followed suit. He yawned and collapsed to his knees, rubbing his eyes. He fought to urge to fall asleep, but it kept getting harder.

An aroma of candy colors circled them, and they grew even more tired. The friends then fell from their knees to the floor. With no resistance left, the four friends passed out into a deep state of sleep, breathing and snoring softly.

The last thing they did remember was the sound of their own laughter, and then everything went dark
