Part 1: Normal Life?

Ashford Arclight Museum

The Ashford Twins, Harlem, and Harley are locking down the family museum. “Ash!” Harley calls for her brother. “I'm in here” Ash answers her, and she walks to the main office, and she sees him with a strange rod with weird markings on it. “What are you doing?” She asked him, “Looking at this gift dad sent us,” Ash says as he looks at the rod closer. “A gift? We haven't heard from them since our graduation” Harley says to him. “That was like what? Six months ago?” Ash said to her. Harley was looking at a letter that was in the box.

“He's telling us to protect it,” Harley said as she read the letter.

“Yeah, I wonder if there is any magical history behind it?” Ash said to her.

“I don't know, I'm not trying to be like dad or mom,” Harley said to him as she grabbed her purse.

“Are you trying to be normal again?” Ash asked her.

“Harlem, don't start with me,” Harley said to him.

“Whoa my actual name, you must be annoyed with that question” Ash pokes her. “Come on, you know we are not normal, dad is a demonic treasure hunter, and mom is a witch, and I'm an Evolutions, while your super smart and highly talented” Ash smiled in her face.

Harley put's the rod in the box and she shoves the box into Ash's arms. “Out of all people, you take pride in being an Evolution,” Harley said to him, and Ash frowns for a second. “Look, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it,” Harley said to him. Ash looks at his hands, “I know, and look how many times do we have to go through this? I know my powers are dangerous not being able to touch anyone, and knowing you can give them seven years of bad luck is kinda cool, in some twisted sense” Ash chuckled. “And that is why you call yourself Hex,” Harley said to him as she walked out of the office, and Ash follows her out. As he is closing and locking the door Harley stops and drops her bag.

“Why did you stop?” Ash sees that the whole floor is covered with golden sand.

“How in the hell?” Ash said to himself.

“I don't know, but that is not why I dropped my bag,” Harley said to him.

“Then why did you drop it?” Ash asked her as she pointed at something coming out of the sand.

“That's nice,” Ash noticed that hands wrapped in bandages were emerging from the sand, they fully emerge, and Ash screams “Oh my god, those are Mummies”. They were in golden battle armor.

“YAH THINK!” Harley screams as one of the mummies pull a sword from it's back.

“That's just plain wrong,” Ash said as the mummy screamed and they attacked them.

Harley jumps out of the way while Ash slides the box over to her as he takes off his glove, as the mummy is about to strike he dodges it and gently touches the mummies back. He clutches his hand and then he swings his arms throwing the mummy and making it crash into an exhibit. “Ash! Watch out for the displays!” Harley yells as one of the mummies try to take the box, but she kicks it away. The mummies look at her with it's pricing red eyes, and tries to cut her head off, but she dodges it and then she trips the mummy grabbing its sword and chopping off its head. She smiles “That was easy” but then she notices that the mummy grabs its head and put it back on.

“Maybe not,” she says as another mummy pulls out another sword and started to fight her.

Ash was dodging the blades from each one of them, he trips one of them he jumps up as he reads something on its armor. Ash jumps back as multiple mummies are swinging at him, he whispers something, “Fall” all of the mummies fall on thin air, and they crash into each other. Ash calls to Harley who was still trying to protect the box, “Harley how good is your Ancient Egyptian?” He said to her as the mummies began to stand back up. “A little rusty” she forces the mummy back with the sword, and then she kicks it away from, “Why,” she said while trying to catch her breath.

“Because, I would use my Hex field, but since I don't know if you will be affected by it, I don't wanna take the chance” Ash said as he taps each mummy on its back he slides under them, and as he clutches his hand they all ran into each other.

Harley was still holding off two of them, she has one against the wall, and sees an inscription on the armor, “I see what you mean” she memorizes the inscription on the armor then she cuts it's head off. She says the inscription out loud, and the mummies slowly turn into sand. Harley looks around the museum, “Are you kidding me!?” She screams as she looks at all the sand. Ash comes next to her, and he grabs the box, “You should be used to this” Ash said to her. “I don't want to be that's the thing” as Harley complained Ash noticed that the sand disappeared.

“Oh, look now we don't have to do any cleaning, aren't you happy?” Ash puts his arm around her shoulder as she smiled.

“Some the display cases are still destroyed,” Harley said as she fixes her glasses.

“Least the museum does not open till Wednesday, don't you love holidays?” Ash said to her.

“Not really, because they took me out of school against my will” Harley took the box away.

“You never give your brain a break,” Ash says.

“Whatever, come on let's get home,” Harley said to him.

“Good, because now we have research, and a reason to get into contact with mom and dad” Ash looked around the museum for any more sand.

“Yeah, and we have James and Elizabeth coming tomorrow and this new intern who wants to study you” Harley smiles in his face.

“You're so funny I forgot to laugh” Ash puts his glove back on.

Ash and Harley walk out of the museum, but they do not notice that the box has some of the gold sand within it, and on the top of the building there is something watching them. Its eyes glow bright red as a growl is heard, followed by a howl.
