Summary

*What if instead of aliens' invading Earth, humans invaded their planet?* After World war III reduced Earth to ashes, the last remnants of humanity fled to the stars, carving a new empire among the clouds of an alien world- *Elysium*. But this new paradise was already home to a native civilisation, one now shackled under the terms of a brutal treaty. Every year, the aliens pay tribute. Every day, their skies are shadowed by the ships of their human overlords. The people of Elysium live under the boot of the Dominion-an authoritarian human regime that controls every aspects of life. Children are bred, not born. Raised not to love or dream, but to dominate. The highest honour in this twisted society is to become an *Avatar*-a chosen warrior diplomat engineered to mimic their slaves and maintain human supremacy. Evan, a gifted but rebellious young recruit, never wanted this life. He dreams of something the Dominion forbids: *freedom.* But when he's selected to complete in the *Trails*, a brutal gauntlet meant to forge the next generation of Avatars, he must fight not just to survive-but to understand the truth behind the Dominion, the aliens they oppress, and the role he was bred to play. As Evan's beliefs are shattered and loyalties tested, he'll face an impossible choice: rise as a symbol of oppression, or burn it all down...and take himself down with it. **In a world built on ashes and lies, what does it mean to be human anymore?**

Author's Note

Hey, Rubies!

Now, now, hold the pitchforks and hear me out. Yes, I did delete my book...forthefourthtime.

ANYWAY, it was for a perfectly good reason.

The reason being that it wasn’t hittin’ you know. Some of you might have liked the book, maybe even enjoyed it but I didn’t. It felt (at least to me) very static. The story I wanted to tell was not typing itself out on the page and it was frustrating me. Not to mention, the slow start to the story was a no-go and I can’t remove it without rewriting the whole thing again.

So, I took a deep breath and pulled the plug.

Do I feel slightly heartbroken? Yes.

Am I angry it took this long to realise that I hated my book? Yes.

Do I think I made a good decision? 100% yes!

Because let’s be honest, who here has never thrown out a piece of art because it just-wan’t-right. (unless you’re a leisure reader then you don’t count) Basically, my book is going through ametamorphosis stagewhere it will take some time (meaning lots of editing, restructuring and rephrasing) before it’s perfect.

I want “Deliver Us” to be my debut book one day and for that to become a reality, I need to learn to rip it up and start afresh. (some of you might be struggling with this too; you’re not alone, ruby)

The message of this book series is not only the core of my writing but also my life and faith. Its absolutely paramount that I do whatever is necessary to get the message out there because some of you might need it. (what exactly? That’s for you to find out)

There is much that I changed: the world building, the theme, the story line and basically everything but there is much I still kept.

Don’t worry, Ithinkthis will be the last time I change this book.

Welcome, Rubies to the Volume 1 of the Chains of Tomorrow.

(formerly known as the Seraphim Chronicles)

Again!...again...again...again?

Whatever!

You know the drill:READ OR IMMA HUNT YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOU MYSELF!
