Fort in a Storm - Review
"This is a remarkable piece of writing. The words just flow off the page and into the reader's psyche as if they had always been there. I got a warm glow just reading it - despite the seriousness of the subject matter. This is yet another story that I have put onto my reading list and one I hope to get back too soon. For now, I am content with having read 6 chapters and having those 6 chapters keep me company for a while. This is a great story. "Overall: excellent. It's a story that needs to be told. I would have preferred to have Adam the center of the story. At times, it appeared as though the author was performing a balancing act between Micah's story and Adam's. Micah's story brings richness to the story, but should it have equal emphasis? Just a question."

An Excellent Piece on an Important Subject
"This was an awesome read. The subject is so, so hard and often so rarely talked about, but it's so important to be discussed. I can tell the author put a lot of work and time into this story researching the legalities behind it, histories, and maybe even personal stories to make it as authentic as possible. Grey moral areas were introduced everywhere, and it left me even unable to pick a side to go with. The only thing I wished I could've seen more of was Adam's interactions in his foster home, and maybe less of Micah in the beginning when he was first getting into the subject. I was much more absorbed when Adam and Roger showed up in the novel, and I think it'd help the readers too if Micah's focus came more in the middle. Other than that, it was absolutely incredible reading this novel."
