Prologue

It was late evening. The college field was almost empty. Aarohi was walking alone in the ground while Agastya was watching her from the shadows.

Everyone thinks Agastya has it all—fame, brains, girls, respect.

But none of it matters.

Not when he looks at her.

She doesn’t even know the obsession Agastya has for her .

He steps out. His voice is calm, but there’s something cold under it.

Agastya: “You’re late.”

Aarohi : “You always say that… were you waiting?”

Agastya: “Always.”

[She looks away, tucking a hair behind her ear.]

Aarohi: “I had to stay back. Tried studying… failed again.”

Agastya (watching her):

“You don’t need to try so hard. This world… it wasn’t made for someone like you.”

Aarohi : “Or maybe it wasn’t made for someone like you and me.”

Agastya (stepping closer):

“No. It wasn’t made for me. I was made to survive it. You... you were made to be protected from it.”

[She blinks at him, confused, unsure.]

Aarohi: “Why do you say things like that?”

Agastya :“Because it’s true. And because I hate when other guys look at you like they don’t know who you belong to.”

Aarohi: “I don’t belong to anyone.”

Agastya's eyes darkened and he said in fury :

“Yes, you do. You just don’t know it yet.”

[Her hands tighten around her books. His eyes don’t move from her face.]

Aarohi: “Sometimes… the way you talk… it scares me.”

Agastya (whispering): “Good. Fear keeps you close.”

Aarohi: “That’s not love, Agastya.”

Agastya (stepping even closer)

“No. But love didn’t keep you safe, did it? People like me don’t love easy. We love like fire. We love until there’s nothing left.”

[She stares at him, torn between wanting to run and wanting to understand.]

Aarohi: “You think you need to protect me… but who’s going to protect me from you?”

Agastya: “No one. I won’t let anyone stand between us. Not even you.”

[She steps back. But he’s already in her world—too deep to pull away.]

Agastya : “I’ve lived through hell. You’re the only thing that feels real. And I swear, Aarohi... I’d burn the whole world to keep you.”

This isn’t the story of perfect love.

This is the story of obsession. Of a boy who would rather destroy everything… than lose the girl who made him feel alive.
