Prologue

Living dead,

Two words explained my life too well, I am very poor, dirty, and no one dares to hold me, touch me, for I might taint them with filth. It's been a long time, I had eaten, a day, a week from now? I can't even decipher, I want to cry, but my eyes are so dry, ah, I remember it had been a long time I had drank water, no wonder why I felt my lips crumble. I am a young man, I live seventeen years of my life now, I had a pair of green eyes, I had inherited it from God knows who, I literally didn't have anything, emotionally, my heart is empty and cold too. I maybe good looking, but with my state now, it's hard to differentiate a mere skeleton to my body.

I may have nothing, but I have a talent, it is what I use to have a living, but life is unfair.

When I was thirteen, someone took interest in my writing, although I only live in streets, someone took notice of me, he said he'll buy my stories with a high price, he said he'll publish it in my name, he said he'll give me sample of my published book. I am a fool for believing his words, I shouldn't have believed him, he stole a part of me, the only treasure I have, my stories, and I built them with my heart. They are mine, from the first place I shouldn't have believed anyone, they will only approach if they need something from me, after they get it, they'll leave you and never come back, like that guy used to do to me,

He never came back.

Months or years later, I saw my story being showcased in the big flat screen TV, I am very positive that it was my story, no doubt, my characters, my plot, my heart and my everything. I cried so hard that day, tears and fury filled my veins. I can’t believe that he, that bastard stole this, copyrighted it with his name. He did pay me, small amount of money, compared to what he had earned, this was nothing. I hated myself I can’t do anything.

Sighing, I walk in the streets searching for nothing, a beautiful thing catches my eye, a mirror, I touched it, it sent tingles of electricity to my fingers, I quickly distanced my hands from that thing. How did that happen? Can science explain something like that? I look at it closely without touching it, it has pretty carvings, wooden and golden precious designs are carved upon it. I want it, I had saved money.

“Hey, excuse me? How much is this mirror?” I asked the landlady politely. He eyes glistened as he looked me in the eye.

“Oh boy, why are you covered with dirt?” she said shyly, she’s in her mid30’s now, she still looked pretty, “You should wash yourself, you’re handsome after all.” She said sincerely, I’m glad someone cares for me, she’s nice.

“Thank you for caring, miss, how much is this mirror?” I asked again, pointing at the thing I am asking for.

“Oh, you don’t have to pay for that,” she winked, “I’ll give it to you for free,” she placed it in my hand, and smiled brightly. She’s so nice,

“No, I would feel bad to take this from you without paying,”

“Don’t be, just think it was a gift from a friend,” she said, “You’re handsome,” he caressed my cheek, like a mother, how did I know, I never felt something like this before, only the asphalt and cement brushes my cheek. I felt tears crept in my eyes, “Aww, don’t cry darling, you should take care of yourself.” She brushed off the tears falling down from my eyes,

“Thank you,” I smiled, “You’re so nice to me,” no one had been nice to me before,

“You’re welcome, I’m Talia, and you are?”

“I am Clyde,” I shook her hands, “Clyde Woods.”

“That’s a nice name,” she commented, and handed me an envelope,

“What’s this?” I opened it a guide book? For what? “What is this for?” I look at her, but she’s gone, nowhere to be found, her shop it’s gone. Like a wind.

My hand held two things, a mirror and a guide book. I leaned on the wall, and opened it. Two words catches my eye,
