Chapter 1
“You bastard”!
“I’m telling you, I’m not to blame, I swear”! He tells me laughing.
“You never going to accept that you were wrong, right”?
“Never”!
“I am near a gas station, and I want to pee badly, we’ll talk later”.
I arrive at the gas station and park in front of the bar attached to it. I get out of the car when, from my left, a guy appears carrying someone else on his shoulder. Normally I’m not interested, and I don’t stick my nose but, the guy passed right through my face, cutting me off.
“Need help”? I asked, following him with my eyes.
“No, I can handle it”.
When he arrived in the back of the van, he simply threw the person he was carrying into the open trunk.
...A child? What the hell...
He left the trunk open and headed for the bar. I immediately went to the trunk and looked at the person squatting.
“H... help”, a voice like a sigh was heard.
Without worrying for another second, I went to my car and opened the back door then going back to pick up the child from the trunk. After making sure he was comfortable enough I turned around and closed the trunk, I got back in the car and left.
“What the hell did I just do”? I started to question myself.
Have I exceeded the legal speed? With big bright colors.
“I need you; I’ll be there in 5”, my hand is shaking on the phone.
I hung up the phone and my hands are still shaking.
Boom and Chuck were waiting for me in front of the house, both with rifles in their hands.
I stop and they rushed towards the car.
“What happened”? Boom asked, looking at me wide-eyed.
