Chapter 1: My memories
I was fifteen you sixteen .My name is Tamara Rivera , my dad is from Spain and my mom is from Madagascar. Do you even know where it is? That's the first thing you ask me when I was six years old. We've been friends since that day. I was four when we met for the first time. You slammed the door at me, you've been pissed that I played with your toys without your permission and to add another layer in your room.
In highschool, I can't remember clearly but all I remember is that you sit next to me , we've talked a lot and then you ask me to go out with you. Then we reach the university. I chose law and you chose medical school. We tried to hang out together but our schedules were too busy. ~sighing~
His name is Chris, a popular guy since childhood. Our families are friends since university.

Why he's next to me? ~oh yeah~ Mister is so focus on being popular and he forgot about the exam we should have in three months. (I didn't help him this time) I'm not a genius and I hate maths. I've always got a good grade since the kindergarten. Well it's something that I shouldn't scream out loud I know but ... this guy next to me is one of my best friends, him and Rosie. Rosie and him are from Spain like me. Rosie was seven back then. I felt sorry for him but he was overdoing it by not revising on time. And back then I wasn't only his friend but also his girlfriend.

My mother left us when I was ten. Don't worry she didn't pass ...yet.

So my dad is an architect he preferred to stay in his beloved country "Spain" even if he got a lot of proposition elsewhere. I know he loves her so much and for her good she let her go to New York. They are not divorced they just didn't live together like a normal couple do. She comes to visit us back then but not for too long and rarely. We talked on video call but not often. We don't have that mother daughter bond before. I missed her so much but after all humans always get used to change. My mom's name is Georgia and my dad's Felipe.

I leave Spain at eighteen. Why? Because I broke up with Chris Jones, eighteen years old guy I was just seventeen. We just reach the first step at university.

So from now on I live here in NY with my mother she is very happy that I'm here but I know she would have preferred that I didn't leave our father all alone. Emera is a married woman now and Gustavo didn't live at home anymore. Juan is not here either.

When I spend time with her I know she really loves my dad so do I. Leaving him on his own is not my goal but to have a better future I had to. Sometimes love ain't enough as my abuela said. She is from Mexico and my grandpa from Spain. After their mariage she never left Spain again. Abuela is my dad's mom I do love my others grandparents but they're quite far away from me. Madagascar is pretty far away. I often contact them and they sent me a lot of gifts when it's my birthday. Because dad and mom didn't live together anymore they don't come to visit him at all or my mom. The malagasy traditional mariage is not like that they said. I have got four siblings: Juan , Emera, Gustavo. I'm now eighteen, Emera is our elder sister after her come Juan and Gustavo. Juan died in a car accident we don't talk about it too much. Mom wasn't there and dad was devastated.
Emera is drop dead gorgeous. I'm not the one who's saying it it's her fiance and in laws. She left our house after her mariage. I didn't deny she is not gorgeous it's just...she is more like my sweet mother than my sister. When mom decided to pursue her career it wasn't for cupidity it was to give us a best life and for sure to teach us to be independent. Now Emera is twenty three, a pretty young woman I wish her all the best. Her husband is an accountant and she is a cook the best. After their mariage they'll create their first restaurant Emera's.
I study law at university and my ex boyfriend is in medical school. His name is Chris Jones, one of the heirs of the group Jones: they've got so much business all these years but everyone know them because of their hospital chain in Europe and luxury hotels. He'll turn nineteen this year. I didn't break up because I was afraid of his family they appreciate me. I made that decision because we can't get along anymore. So I leave the country with my belongings and pursue my future career as a lawyer here . I've met him during my sister's ceremony but we didn't talk and I 'm glad!! I will finish my courses in three years and I want to join a law firm after graduation.
