10 In The Night

Amy Tesla was a famous writer there in Houston,she was loved by all horror book lovers.

She had many followers on Instagram, Facebook Twitter and a lot of other social platforms.

She stayed at Corrington Resorts at Newcastle where she lived alone with her many servants.

"Madam!" Kimberly, Amy's chief maid screamed, rushing frantically into the wide living room her arms swinging and chest heaving.

"Kim! What happened?" She asked,her brows creased. She was standing facing out the floor to ceiling window next to her wide flat screen TV. She was in deep thought,her black coffee in hand when her chief maid came rushing into the room like she had seen a ghost. Kimberly was wearing a blue apron roped lazily around her waist.

"Ma'am! Not good! Not good at all!" She wailed,her face stained with tears.

"Kim what happened? Why are you so upset?"

"Ma'am...you...you...your daughter was involved in a murder!" She screeched,her voice echoing of the large walls in the house.

"What? How? My daughter killed?" Amy was dumbfounded her daughter would never do anything like that

"No ma'am she didn't kill! She was killed!" Kimberley confirmed crying and wailing.

Amy couldn't move,it was like her brain had stopped working,making it impossible for her to react to the impossible message that her maid was conveying.She could still hear her maid talking, but it didn't matter.She couldn't even work her brain into explaining what she was saying to her now. And soon enough Kimberly's voice faded into the background.

The thought that her only child Addie Tesla was murdered was next to impossible for her. It was the last thing on her mind that night.Shot at the back of her mind,it had never occurred that she would actually be alive to go to a morgue to check for her daughter's body!

"Ma'am! Ma'am!" Her maid was screaming again.She could hear the endless worry from her voice,but she couldn't care less.In fact she was rather annoyed.

All of a sudden she could feel her head was getting light and she couldn't see the world in her view clearly at all.And the last she had heard was her maids voice. "Ma'am!"

"I need the goods by the end of tomorrow or else.."The burly man threatened slamming his head right into the brick wall at the back alley .

"Oh my God!"Ashley exclaimed quietly to herself, as she watched the horrendous scene in front of her.

"I'm sorry! so damn sorry!" The man whose head was slammed to the wall pleaded,tears streaming down his pale face.

"Sorry? No what I want is--!" The man stopped mid-sentence his face looking in her direction.

"Oh Lord please do not let him find me" she prayed silently

"Hey you there come out!" The burly man ordered. She had been exposed. The air was caught in her throat as she considered the option of running. She threw it out of her mind completely after thinking for awhile.He looked quite muscular and she wasn't much of an athlete, so if she ran it would be easy to catch her and have their way with her. So with sweat sliding down her forehead,she swallowed a little, then summoning the courage she stepped out smiling wryly.

"It seems I was caught" she laughed dryly. Her eyes scanned the man whose face was smashed into the walls with curiosity.

The back alley of BCF was a big space for the thugs of the town.

They had found a comfortable hideouts in the city and had settled there.The fatalities caused by these group of miscreants were increasing daily while they were still roaming around a few months ago.....

Mainland Market

4 In The Evening

"Kill them! Kill them! Kill them!" Shouts and roars of people resonated all around the markets.There was a crowd,a huge one,not just one there for some little entertainment but one that was there for serious matters.

"What's wrong with this troublesome lot?" A young man squeezed through the crowd talking with his dark and bushy haired companion.

"There's gonna be a persecution"His companion answered lightly

"Persecution?!" His eyes shot up in amazement and horror

"Oy do stop shouting! We don't want to attract attention"The bushy man shushed him looking around warily.

Apart from a few hooligans who turned back, no one was paying them any mind. The bushy man sighed in relief

"Jack whom are they persecuting?" The younger man asked still shocked beyond belief.

"How in hell's foundations would I know mate" Jack replied,getting annoyed with his curious friend

"The crowd is here to watch so let's go see too" The young man pulled at his friend's arm.

"Nate stop pulling at me arm" Jack complained walking and dodging people as Nate pulled him to the front of the crowd where a young teenage girl was bound with chains to her legs and hands .

"Oh dear! A girl!" Nate hollered,attracting strange looks from the people surrounding them.

"Shut up! Or else we might be caught!" Jack whispered in his ear.

"Cough cough!" Nate faked a cough looking around with a sheepish smile.

"Kill her! Kill her!" He started hollering too. Jack stared at him with a blank expression.He could feel his scalp going numb as he watched the idiotic display in front of him

"Oy get out mate!" A rotund man in a tattered coat shouted from the crowd,and everyone one else followed suit.

"Kill her! Kill her...?" Nate stopped in confusion. Then he giggled in embarrassment.

"Sorry mates" he coughed hiding behind his companion.

"Nate please stop! For Jesus's sake please!" Jack rubbed his nose pleading with Nate.

"Sorry about that" He apologized. The crowd had started shouting again,and a riot had even started at the left corner of the crowd near a stall.

"Why do they keep shouting kill them instead of kill her?" Nate asked looking around the platform where the girl was chained,with her head lowered. There was no other person present on the platform.

"Nate can you shut up for awhile?" Jack enquired,wiping the sweat from his brows. Nate had really been a pain in the ass ever since the kill. Yes the kill,there was blood on their hands now.

They had been on a "shopping spree" they called it,trying to make the deed less notorious. Impossible wish,they were soon to find out.

Earlier that day

Outside the hostel of Beijing camp forts

12 Noon

"So we climb up the pipe and reach the second floor. Then we enter the building and search the closest room to the stairs, immediately after the spree we leave through the hole in the wall. Got it?" Jack explained the plan for the fifth time to Nate.

"Yeaaah... But--" Nate drawled his hand scratching his chin

"But what? But what Nate?" Jack kicked the door to the truck in anger. The frustration he was feeling that day was gonna come loose on Nate if he didn't behave.

"But we should have gone through with this plan before now" Nate grinned running to side of the tall storey building where the main pipes were connected.

He climbed masterfully up the pipe to the second floor where there was a huge window.

"Come up!" He gestured to Jack who was cursing quietly down there.

"Shoot me now please" He pleaded to no one before he followed Nate climbing up the pipe. Nate opened the window and slid in peeping in for any one who might be loitering in the corridors.

He had confirmed there was no one before shifting to the side to make space for Jack to climb in. The corridors were long and there was not a spot of dirt or grime. The walls were a pale blue while the floor a blinding white.

"They sure keep this place neat" Nate commented his eyes taking in his surroundings

"Quit looking around! This ain't no time to dillydally" Jack admonished.

Just then the sound of footsteps could be heard from the first floor.It was more than one person, and they were coming up!

"Hey Jack! Someone's coming up!" Nate warned Jack pulling him into the nearest room.

"Oy! Let go of me you little--" Jack complained,not knowing the severity of the situation.

"Shhh!" Nate interrupted him,his index finger making a keep quiet sign over his lips.

He was peering out from a little gap in the door. There were students chattering and laughing as they come up the stairs. They walked past the door which they were hiding. After they had confirmed they had passed them, Jack sighed deeply leaning weakly against the door.

As he turned away from the door he was shocked,shocked was quite a small word for what he was feeling.

A rush of despair climbed up his stomach bringing a sudden urge to puke. Nate could feel his friend go stiff.

"What's wrong Jack? They're gone" He asked Jack turning around.

He too upon seeing the frozen awestruck expression on Jack's face followed his gaze to look in front of him.

"Holy Cow!" Nate mouthed, slumping backwards. Right there staring at them was a horrified teenage girl. She was watching them with terror in her eyes. Her limbs shaking.

"Now now dear, no need to be afraid. We won't hurt you" Jack recovered quickly trying to ease the situation. He stepped forward his hands in front of him.

As he stepped forward,she took a large step backward, her arms reached behind her to touch the table where assorted fruits lay untouched in a glass bowl, along with a fruit knife.

Jack's eyes followed her movement and then he rushed forward.

"Help! Help!" She screamed taking hold of the knife,she turned back to him.

"If you come any closer I will stab you right in that stone you call a heart. She threatened,gripping the knife for all it was worth

"Girl we don't want to hurt you!" Jack stopped whining, but as soon as it came out of his mouth he knew that she would never believe it. I mean even he wouldn't, who would? When someone enters your home peeping from the door outside who wouldn't be scared?

"Just give us a few bucks and we'll be out of her like we never even came. We just want to eat" Jack sighed, putting his hands up in the air as a sign of resignation.

"S-s- stay here! Do not move!" She commanded them. Moving slowly away from them to the inner part of the dorm. Immediately there was some distance from them she ran to pick her phone up from the couch that was there. Before she could have even switched on her phone. Not to talk of dialing the emergency number. Jack had noticed her movements and ran to stop her from picking the phone

"Girl can you just let us out safely? Please!" He had sweat sliding down his face. This wasn't what he had planned for a quick take-and-go theft. He had her arms behind her back as he held her from behind. He took a glance at the fainted Nate and couldn't resist cursing.

"W-what do you want?" The girl asked,her breathing ragged.

"What's your name girl?" Nate was waking up again. There was a slight flutter from his lashes before he fully opened his eyes.

The sight in front of him was chilling. He misunderstood the entire situation.

"Jack! What are you doing?" He questioned Jack. His eyes wide with shock

"My name's Addie... Addie Tesla" Addie replied,her eyes darting from the man holding her to the man who was spread out across the floor.

"So you're saying there was a murder right here on our campus?" The officer leaned lazily in his chair. His sunshades low under his cold and unfeeling eyes.

Ashley shrunk back under his scrutiny. "Y-yes sir" She confirmed,nodding her head slightly.

"And you were the only witness present Isn't it?" He probed further.

"Yes sir not only once has a murder taken place there--" Ashley started. Anger palpable in her voice,but she had only gotten into her tantrum when the officer interrupted.

" You might want to keep your voice low" His tone chilled even further. It was like a deep abyss plunging her into it.

"Yes sir. It will never happen again sir" She apologized,her voice reduced to the minimum.

"Hmm so where were we again? Yes you are the only witness alive is a huge problem little lady. I'm sure you are aware" She fidgeted with her hands,as she looked down. She was the only living witness making the situation all the more complex

"Sir I know this sounds strange but I saw it. That man-- No! That monster stabbed the other man to death" Her fists were clenched tightly under the table,as she struggled to control her rioting emotions.

"To have a strong foundation for this case requires more than one witness missy" His voice had returned to normal, but a chill still ran down her spine.

"Sir--" The officer interrupted her once more by sliding a card to her.

"My business card. If you need any thing or want to add some statements call me,but if not this case is frozen" He got up from his seat and walked through a door next to his office.

She was still staring blankly at the card after he left the office. "Officer...Mulligan" She mouthed as she picked up the card and read it's content.

12; 30 Noon

"Addie please forgive us. We just want to eat! Please!" Nate begged,trying to get up from the floor,but falling back down

"Just shut up Nate! Shut up!" Jack shouted at him. He released Addie's arms slowly as he turned her around to face him.

She was tall but shorter than him by a lot. Her hair was scattered around her face as she looked at him with derision.

"Don't look at me like that! Just let us go peacefully and we won't--" Jack said,but before he could finish the door was opened with a loud thud,slamming Nate into the wall.

"Ouch!" Nate grimaced,holding his head.

There was an armed man at the door pointing the gun at Jack.

"Jesus! Another one and he's holding a gun!" Addie exclaimed,her eyes wide with terror.

"Hands in the air now!" The man commanded closing the door.

"Hey bro let her go take us instead" Jack tried to bargain and his response was the raise of a brow.

"Give me your money!"

"I will just hold on" Addie walked toward her drawer

"Durrrt!" The sound of a bullet echoed throughout the campus.

"Jesus!" Nate hollered getting up from the floor hurriedly and moving over to the window.

"Hey! If I go down you come with me!" The man pointed his revolver at Nate,his back to Jack. Jack made use of this opportunity to hit his hand that was holding the revolver from behind. Then with an agility past his age he hit the floor on all fours and got hold of the gun,jumped up and shot the now un-armed man.

"Noooooooo!" Nate scowled as he jumped out the window

"What the heck!" Jack shouted,looking at Addie's lifeless body before joining Nate.

"Murder? Bro we killed someone! The cops they might catch us! What are we gonna do?" Nate was panicking. His eyes were red as he questioned and blamed Jack in the smelly truck.

"I had to do it or else you would have died as well!" Jack was just as scared and bewildered as his friend.

"What in the world Jack! Is this what we dreamed of, stealing, robbery, killing?" Nate asked Jack, tears falling from his red eyes.

He and Jack had become friends from their neighborhood.They had shared their dreams and had become best friends but as they grew older they became family.

"Nate. I am sorry" Said Jack,his face downcast with shame.

"Huh? What for?" Nate asked confused by his unexpected apology.

"You... should have been somewhere you are valued... I mean you left a good job just for me" Jack's own tears started to fall,and he really looked sincere in his apology.

"Bro that wasn't your fault nor is it even a fault. It was my decision" Nate smiled though his smile was made maddened as a result of his bloodshot eyes.

"Thanks Nate" Jack wiped his eyes with his thumb as he drove away from the campus.

"Jesus!" Nate hollered getting up from the floor hurriedly and moving over to the window.

"Hey! If I go down you come with me!" The man pointed his revolver at Nate,his back to Jack. Jack made use of this opportunity to hit his hand that was holding the revolver from behind. Then with an agility past his age he hit the floor on all fours and got hold of the gun,jumped up and shot the now un-armed man.

"Noooooooo!" Nate scowled as he jumped out the window

"What the heck!" Jack shouted,looking at Addie's lifeless body before joining Nate.

"Murder? Bro we killed someone! The cops they might catch us! What are we gonna do?" Nate was panicking. His eyes were red as he questioned and blamed Jack in the smelly truck.

"I had to do it or else you would have died as well!" Jack was just as scared and bewildered as his friend.

"What in the world Jack! Is this what we dreamed of, stealing, robbery, killing?" Nate asked Jack, tears falling from his red eyes.

He and Jack had become friends from their neighborhood.They had shared their dreams and had become best friends but as they grew older they became family.

"Nate. I am sorry" Said Jack,his face downcast with shame.

"Huh? What for?" Nate asked confused by his unexpected apology.

"You... should have been somewhere you are valued... I mean you left a good job just for me" Jack's own tears started to fall,and he really looked sincere in his apology.

"Bro that wasn't your fault nor is it even a fault. It was my decision" Nate smiled though his smile was made maddened as a result of his bloodshot eyes.

"Thanks Nate" Jack wiped his eyes with his thumb as he drove away from the campus.
