"From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The author created a powerful mistaken-identity dynamic between the two main characters, making the story instantly interesting and compelling. The characters are messy, flawed, and both come from very bad relationships, which makes it feel natural that they find comfort in each other’s arms. As the story progresses, we learn more about their personalities and pasts, especially the female lead. There were definitely moments where things could have been said to avoid the chaos she finds herself in, but it’s understandable. She’s human, and her fear of being a disappointment drives her to hide certain truths. The author doesn’t shy away from the spice, which really intensifies the attraction between the main characters and adds to their connection. It’s a fast-paced read filled with twists and secrets that genuinely surprised and shocked me. All in all, a very enjoyable read. "
Cutting the Ice GEA 2026
"I had to rewrite this review because of a data base corruption problem. Mea culpa! That was not what I wrote in the first place, but the review is gone and I will try to recreate it. The pacing of this book wass perfect as a read through the mistaken identity first chapter. A fairly unique beginning as the two MCs met each other before they knew what was to come. Both characters come to each other with their lives in a mess. One completing divorce proceedings,, the other at the beginning of the end of his marriage. Add the villain everyone loves to hate, when her ex gets invited to coach so he can patch up his marriage. Not at all what she wants, but her well meaning uncle was the victim of the first of many lies. There are surprises and twists to the plot which upset the entire hockey team until things begin to sort out. Other than a few punctuation and grammar mishaps, I doubt no one will really notice, I was able to read the entire book with ease. Recommended if you like a little spice with a lot of personal growth. This author understands how to give her cast the depth to make you love them or hate them without reserve. Recommended read. Make sure you have a few hours free because you will not want to put it down. "
Going for the Goal!
"Right off the bat, I was hooked by the creative title and aesthetically pleasing book cover. Both made me intrigued enough to begin reading with enthusiasm. From there, I was introduced to two complicated, yet interesting characters that have undeniable chemistry mixed with a hint of friendly companionship that promises so much more. The writing style is quick, without rushing too much, while also engaging enough that it leaves the reader hanging onto every word. The plot is very intriguing and hooked me from the very first line of Chapter 1. Don't get me started on the characters! They were introduced organically through a mistaken identity situation and have evolved as unique individuals in the following chapters. Overall, I rate the story 5 stars across all categories, and I cannot wait to read more!"

Spice on ice
"Cutting the Ice delivers reliable genre fare in a quick, fun novella. Cole and Winter both need a second chance at love, and then they find each other. But the universe seems to conspire against them, constantly giving them curveballs. Slowly but surely, trust develops, and they end up in each other's arms. This ice hockey novella comes with soap-opera plot twists, a sweet, overprotective male lead and a female lead who needs help learning how to love again. The characters feel a bit inconsistent at times, and a lot of the drama could be solved by better communication, but the resolution is very satisfying, followed by an HEA with a generous helping of spice. Grammar and spelling are mostly fine along the way, the biggest detractor is punctuation. I would recommend investing time to fix as much as possible, as it often impacts flow."

"“Did you take off your panties like I asked?” That was the opening line. I’m not even kidding. That was seriously the opening line 😳. As you would’ve expected, I was certainly petrified the moment I laid eyes on this specific line, but I can assure you that I had a great time with this book 😅! I’m really enjoying Cole and Winter’s romance because it’s the perfect mix of genuine and forbidden. What’s especially interesting is that both of them are dealing with breakups. That’s their second chance at love, which would logically complicate stuff. At first, I quickly judged Cole as one of those obnoxious ‘bad boy’ sort of characters, and in my defense, he really looked like it in the first chapter, but I guess he kinda grew on me. Beneath the famous hockey player, he’s a tired man dealing with a toxic relationship and trying his best to fix it. It makes him infinitely more relatable because we all sometimes try to cling to such sort of relationships, even if it’s never going to work. I haven’t really gotten into details about Winter’s past romantic relationship, but I do hope I get the chance to. The only thing to note is some grammar to be sorted here and there. Nothing else, really. In any case, it was fun! It was really fun! Great job, Arla 😉! "
Ice hockey love story
"Reading the book was okay, but not very exiting. All 3 main characters make quite some questionable choices, where I was left like, wow okay why? There are no background stories (except a litte about the female character but not enough). That makes the story very superficial. The characters lack deaph. "
