• Jake — Protagonist, marked by a supernatural bloodline. Courageous but haunted.

• Joyce — Jake’s partner, loyal and fierce, a steady anchor in chaos.

• Valerie — Protector with mystical abilities; bearer of the pendant that amplifies light magic.

• Amanda — Skilled fighter with knowledge of ancient runes and weapons.

• Betty — Antagonist; dark force hunting Jake, capable of summoning shadows and manipulating fear.

• Kael and Renn — Supernatural brothers from the “legends,” protectors of those marked by ancient bloodlines. Kael is the warrior; Renn is the mystic.

Kael the Bound

• Title: The First Marked

• Role: The one who made the original pact with the darkness.

• Story: Centuries ago, Kael was a soldier or a grieving father who sought forbidden power to save his family or village. He bled beneath the dying moon and gave part of his soul to the shadows. He survived—but he was never free again.

• Legacy: His bloodline bears the curse. Every generation is watched by the Shade. Some resist. Some become monsters.

• Symbol: A bloodstained handprint or a broken sword.

• Known for: Creating the curse’s first bond. He’s both a warning and a mystery, no one knows if his soul is still trapped somewhere, guiding or watching.

Renn the Severed

• Title: The Breaker of Chains

• Role: A descendant of Kael who tried to destroy the curse.

• Story: Renn was born with the Mark but rebelled against it. Unlike Kael, she sought to unbind her blood from the darkness. Some say she found a way. Others say she was torn apart by the Shade before she could finish the ritual.

• Legacy: Her writings and rituals are scattered—torn pages, scratched stone, whispered prayers.

• Symbol: A burned-out eye or a torn page.

• Known for: Nearly breaking the curse. She is a symbol of defiance—and hope.

• Myths say: If someone with the Mark speaks her final words aloud, the darkness will either recoil… or rage.
