Chapter 1
I may not have the ability to live or adapt on my own living beyond this caged area. Where the green grass grew long while the world outside lives on. When I’m standing here being watched by the eyes of the guests that came to visit with no choice of what’s chosen for my fate. As they stared at me, making me feel uncomfortable, destroying my pride with awkwardness.
I had to get out of here no matter what it takes, though they thought it was impossible. There has to be a way to get out of here, the two fence doors. That has a padlock on the inner one. I tried to move my leg that didn’t want to go too far as I limped around my area thinking of a plan. My rear right leg might not go very far. That would make it difficult to cover the distance in such a short time period. Where I could get caught very easily and put back where I started out in the first place.
I felt like something was pushing me forward, telling me my destiny waits outside. Whether it would lead for the greater good only the future could tell such a thing. The others laughed at my foolish thoughts thinking I was crazy or mad to think of such things. Well I didn’t think so; in fact I thought quite the opposite. I told them I didn’t belong and they only laughed more at me.
Later this evening when we were already closed up there were horrible sounds coming from the distances. That drew closer to the enclosure as ball of electricity exploded into a huge explosion. The ground was torn apart by this destructive force as patches of soil flew forward. Then I saw a wolf out of a cage that didn’t look familiar. This golden brown furred wolf harnessed a source I had never seen before. It stared at me studying my body, why?
Then another wolf bared their fangs attacking with their dark pitch blood stained color. When this wolf grazed the other as a little blood streamed down its leg. The one that defend itself against the cage fence fighting back pushing down its enemy. A ball of electricity was created and shot at the one on the ground electrifying them as they became paralyzed.
Another ball of electricity fired, but this one was aimed at my fence facing me. The walled in area collapsed forward after I had backed away.
“Come,” the unknown wolf that was left standing with a male voice mentioned.
“Why? Why should I listen to you, I don’t evening know you?” I barked at whoever had done it.
“Just follow me, no questions!” he answered.
“You would of killed me, if I didn’t back up!”
“I didn’t! You’re still alive aren’t you? Besides this area isn’t safe anymore to stay here with the results that will follow.”
“Huh?” I asked bewildered. “What do you mean?”
“There is no time for fifty million questions.” he stated growing tired of this already.
“Alright, but I hope you realize I’m slow.”
“I know already, there something inside you that can be proving useful.”
I’m confused, but I did what he wanted me to do. I started to move and more wolves came up this way. Their traveling speed was incredibly fast and gaining up on us. He stopped and guarded my back as a massive ball of electricity was created.
He had fired it taking down five, but three of them got right back up. The current of the electricity sparked that faded away a few seconds later. Three of the wolves charged toward his direction.
Then a spiritual dragon wrapped around one of them like a snake with its green eyes. It had somehow immobilized the enemy with its spiritual blue body. The wolf tried to escape with no luck. “What are you doing Sensei?” A wolf came out walking near him with another pack member.
“Yeah Sensei, were you saving all the fun for yourself?” Fire burst off the other wolf’s chains as they unwrapped from its neck and flew into the air. The flames stretched off coursing through the metal creating wings of a phoenix, as it formed a beak and opened its blazing eyes. This body was covered in the chains as if wore it for a design. The feet had braces on them as it extended its claws digging into the enemy scorching them. They had passed out from the intense heat, unable to handle it. The bird was able to still fly without any of the chains intercepting its ability for flight.
“No, I’m fine! I was warming up for the fight. Besides I wasn’t saving all the fun, I thought you could use some yourselves.” he replied. Electricity shot out creating a horn creature as its whine filled the air. A unicorn stood there, all these creatures were spiritual. I was only able to see this creature for a brief second before it attacked with its horn zapping the enemy. Leaving them unable to get back up and fight.
The three wolves howled to warn the others to stay away. How were those spirit forms able to cause so much physical damage? The dragon unwrapped itself around the passed out wolf, and roared through the air. Their spiritual creatures cried out with them. The unicorn had disappeared after attacking the wolf before this went down. While that was out I felt this huge power coming from it as if it were crushing me spiritually. I didn’t even know if that horse had more power than what it was displaying. If so this would have just been mirror game for it.
The chains returned to the wolf’s neck and braces to their paws. The heated steel went from a red orange color to blue as it cooled down to the original steel state. This didn’t affect them from its blazing temperature as they began to wear it.
“We should go before the ones that survived, wake up with revenge.” Sensei informed us, walking forward into the woods that were near us. This land was flat here so you could see someone coming from miles away.
I hoped that the woods would hide us well enough from this new threat, at least to me. Wait, why should I be worried? I’m not the one that caused this, besides why would they want a wolf like me? I won’t be able to help them. Though I won’t turn around now and head back to the enclosure I would be a fool to do that.
Later we came to a nice open area where there weren’t just three wolves, but a whole pack. There were even pups that had to be a few months old, less than a year. They were being taught by another wolf with powers of their own.
It felt different in this area I don’t even fit with this type of a pack. This just doesn’t seem right for me after getting what I wished. It has to be worth it otherwise I wouldn’t be here with this confusion. I shook the feeling off my head.
“What’s wrong?” A female voice asked seeing the chains that were locked on to her body. As she looked at me I stared at the fire red fur that had patches of black on top of her body. That had given the look of charcoal in some spots. The phoenix sure fit her as I was star struck by her young beauty.
“Oh…um nothing…everything is alright.” I cleared my throat not wanting her to think of me wrong noticing her beauty, as I put on a tough act. Other pack members caught my gazing eyes laughing.
“Look at this new pup hitting on Alpha Commander.” As I heard female voices whispering to each other watching to see what happens next.
“Like that is going to happen. I don’t know what he is thinking?”
“What’s your name?” The pack member that was talking to me asked.
“Mystical, it was because of an event that happened when I was born.” I answered.
“What happened?”
“My right rear leg was damaged when my Mom was giving birth to me. There was a C section going on and woke up during the surgery trying to get off the table. She fell off the table in the process landing on top of me, causing some serious damage.”
“I’m sorry to hear about that…”
“Oh, it’s nothing, I’m just glad you took me in not very many wolves take me in.”
“That’s no problem, I’m Flameblazer.” she introduced herself in a pleasant tone.
“That’s a cool name it matches you, with the phoenix and all.”
“If you like I can show you around and meet the pack members?”
“Yes I would like to meet the whole pack.” I gazed at everybody moving my sight across the land and saw the pups that were training. There was one young pup trying to levitate the rocks around themselves. Other pups surrounded this older wolf that was meditating, joining in the session. The area around the one that was superior in knowledge from their past training. Had two shadows that were created as they faded from the unstable power.
The teacher watched this process seeing the flaws, pointing out the areas that needed to be fixed. “You need to breathe clearer and bend the elements as you summon the spirit within. Search for the figure in your mind pull it outward toward the surface. The rest should create itself.” This male wolf instructed as he went to check the others watching the floating rocks.
“Pups you are doing great, keep your concentration up.” he commented on their progress that was going well.
The teacher had noticed us approaching him as he introduced himself, “I’m Cloud an Omega Commander and I command the skies.” He had black fur with midnight blue eyes. He stared at me with his set puzzled why the Sensei was interested in me. “I heard about you from the Sensei, though I don’t sense any power from you. So how can you be a Moonwarrior?”
What’s a Moonwarrior? Where they the ones that saved me?
“Why are you interested in him, Sensei?” Flameblazer asked as she knew he was behind her without looking.
“Mystical, is magically mysterious that is why. He is here because I want him here. There will be no more questions on this subject anymore.” he disclosed with knowledge from the conversation earlier as he been walking with us the whole time listening.
“Yes, Sensei Thunder Fang!” They both announced at the same time.
“You will treat him with respect like he is our own flesh and blood from this pack. Even though he is different, he will come in handy one day.”
The other wolf that helped me escape came over, who was getting some of the pack members together. What was going on? Sensei Thunder Fang gave a look to Flameblazer as she sensed something that was going to happen, starting to walk away. She had caught a glimpse of him wondering what ideas he had in his mind. The way it looked was as if she knew what was going to be next. The Sensei knew exactly what she was thinking at that moment.
“This isn’t part one of my crazy schemes even though I would love it to be one.” He pleaded for her to stay and listen to his reasons. I had a feeling they knew what each other were about to say next without a word.
“Sure that is what you always say until we’re in that predicament. Then you completely change your mind.” she huffed in disappointment as if she heard this before. Her ears pricked downward dreading for what was going to be mentioned. She turned back telling me to follow her than she changed her mind walking close to his ear.
“I have something that I will work…” Sensei replied with this crazy grin.
“See sometimes I wonder why you are Superior Elite, when your decisions half the time never work. Meaning this young pup’s name is Mystical doesn’t mean there something magically in him. Especially when you sense nothing, you might be putting his life in jeopardy.” she whispered into Sensei’s ear thinking I wouldn’t catch what they were talking about. He only laughed at what she said as I tried to figure out what was going on.
“You’ll see the wolf that is different isn’t so different in the eyes of the beast. For the beast that sleeps in the seas of dreams that flow down the river. Waking up with the current that falls below the rocks as the earth shakes from the waterfall that has no water.” Sensei Thunder Fang had answered with his knowledge that made no sense.
“What? Must you always be crazy?” she asked.
“The way the earth speaks to us may not be understandable, but that is how life works its way around. As the questions fill the skies with someone’s belief. One day you will understand what I mean, by studying and teaching him as you offered.” He was glad that she would do it evening though he didn’t ask her. “There might be times even he’ll teach you something when you least expect it.”
What does he mean I’ll teach her something when nobody really looks up to me? Especially when they call others to be leaders to lead, I try to help, but very few ask my opinion for something at the enclosure. “Wait, how am I going to teach her? When you wolves have these spectacular powers, while I don’t?” I asked.
“That doesn’t matter, what matters is that you learn your essentials.”
“What are they?”
“You will see when the time comes for you to learn and only then.” Sensei Thunder Fang responded back.
Then a strong force came from the grey beige furred wolf that was trying to summon their spirit. This time it was successful as two spirits stood by them. It was foxes with three tails that had chained necklaces with pedants of a dragon eye. They looked like twins, but were different in looks besides the same number of tails. One had turquoise fur with a blend of green and the other ice blue with a blend of fire red.
“Interesting two Kitsunes, great spirit possession, how significant they both have a dragon eye necklace. One golden and the other blue matching both your right blue eye and left golden eye.” This wolf had different color eyes I have never seen anything like it before. The power was strong, but nothing like the fighters that saved me.
I looked directly into the eye of their necklaces with this uneasy feeling that came over me. As I stopped staring into them I felt the sign of relief. Wow that was paralyzing me when I looked into it. I wondered if it would be more difficult if I would have stared any longer into it. They moved swiftly dodging the rocks that were being thrown at them. The rocks were frozen by their eyes with their incredible speed knocking them down into the ground. The rocks halt with the test being done.
“I grant you with the name, Kit Furry.” Sensei congratulated the wolf that stood there waiting to be named.
“Thank you Sensei Thunder Fang.” Kit Furry displayed her honor with the tone of a female, glad to receive a worthy name. The Kitsunes bowed as she did in respect following their new master. I don’t understand how the spirits hit the rocks with their type of mass, same with those spiritual creatures earlier. That had just dawned on me with them in front of me.
“What is it Moonraker?” Sensei had asked the white wolf that had approached him with concern.
“Sensei Thunder Fang, I have to take some of the pack members to the borderline of our territory. If not our home will be invaded.” Moonraker stated with concern for the best interest of the pack.
“Alright you have my permission Beta Commander Moonraker. Do you have enough Moonwarriors with you to help keep them away?” Thunder Fang asked seeking into the direction they wanted to go.
“Yes, but we need to put the Omega Defenders on guard just in case they break through the borderline. They might break through Sensei if we don’t hold them there.” The Sensei listened to what he had to say.
“I will go with you to help keep them at bay besides I sense a disturbance. Alpha Commander Flameblazer since you’re my third in command, you’ll stay here. If any wolf comes here I’m sure you could handle them with your combat skills. You lend a paw to Flameblazer Omega Commander Cloud.” Sensei Thunder Fang ordered.
“Yes Sir,” they both responded from their orders.
“Thank you for your help Sensei Thunder Fang.” Moonraker bowed in gratitude that he was coming along and gave him permission to take the Moonwarriors. “Let’s move out pack!” They left for the borderline leaving only us here, as I watched the teacher go back to teaching the pups. The pups had gone back to meditating practice their skills to improve what they had learned so far. That didn’t last for very long because a wing flapping sound from the distance interrupted them.
It was drawing near as we were unsure of what it could be. Next a hawk large as a bald eagle came into the open area with its wings spread in the air. This was another spiritual creature that wolves used to save me, or the pups that are trying to learn. It was looking down at us, as Cloud noticed it staring up into the sky. Flameblazer had disappeared to go check something no longer being here. His midnight blue eyes glowed briefly as a white horse with wings appeared flying through the clouds. That approached the hawk ramming into its body, stomping with its hoofs as the hawk cried. The Omega Defenders helped their Omega Commander that was around this den.
“What is going on?” I stared up at it, is there a reason for them to battle for this land.
“They want this den, but we can’t allow them to get it and will give them a battle that they’ll never forget. The other packs want this land for the use of herbalism to cure their pack. After they’re able to do that they want to use it against us because these herbs can be turned into a poison to kill off some of the clans of the secret dens.”
“Could they think we’re growing too strong?”
“Yes, but our clan specializes in herbs for health, we can’t fall because the other packs count on us. Mystical, it’s from the fight before Thunder Fang who became a Sensei which is known as the Superior Elite. He helped create the clan with an older leader who used to be the Sensei including an earthwolf, and Flameblazer. Then the Pack of Darkness appeared known as pack Dark Fang.” Cloud explained. “Get the pups to a safe place Omega Defenders.” Some of the Omega Defenders took the pups to a safe place guarding them, while I stood and watched.
The one that had the hawk came out as the Omega Defenders surrounded the enemy. Giving them no chance to escape now that we knew who it belonged to. The hawk was defeating the flying horse, along with the other spiritual creatures for the Omega Defenders. This wolf must be a high rank with the way they fought with their experience.
They battle against their opponent making sure the herbs were protected from any damage. The Omega Defenders were getting exhausted. As they fell and a red wolf ran this way turning out to be Flameblazer.
Flameblazer’s chains went off her body creating that same phoenix as the steel heated up into the flames. “You think this area was open for grabs, well you’re wrong. Picking on the defense is wrong way to go about this, now you’re going to have to face me.” The phoenix cried as it saw the hawk beating its allies joining the battle bringing the attention to it. They fought as flames from its body hit the hawk that tried to dodge the fire. The hawk threw shards of ice at our allies that melted from the heat that radiated off the phoenix’s wings. The frozen ice was having no effect as it tried to bend the heated air into frigid temperatures.
The edges of flame were sizzling from their extreme differences. The pit fire tried to stay heated, as the rapid temperature began to take a toll on each other. Each of them stayed in a stance waiting for the other to attack, while I stood a good distance away from the action.
Then Flameblazer had gone after them attacking with her fangs and claws. Defending us as the enemy tried to escape from the group. A female voice announced jumping away from the one that attacked her. “I’m Frostbreaker, and you won’t stop me from succeeding my goal.” She attacked back with her fangs that had been covered with ice, biting trying to freeze Flameblazer who had turned up the heat. Frostbreaker had built hail big as a bowling ball and she threw these solid surface balls that hit the wolves that surrounded her. They knocked them down keeping them away from me besides Flameblazer, who focused on turning up the heat more as the hail balls melted.
Frostbreaker moved closer to see who I was as I backed away. She wasn’t able to get to close as Flameblazer charged at her with an attack. She used her body to block Frostbreaker to get closer to me, putting all the attention on her. Was that going to work? I hardly doubt it, as she continued to move my way set on figuring out who I am.
She bit Flameblazer as the hawk knocked down the Pegasus that was helping the phoenix that had swooped down to attack Frostbreaker. The flames raged on as it cried changing into these flaming chains. That sliced through more hail balls that melted from the intense heat. As the chains in closed on to the target wrapping on to the enemy that burned. I felt this pressure that Alpha Commander Flameblazer was putting out.
She was using more power than she did at the enclosure as it pressed me down to the ground. The other wolves felt the spiritual power on their bodies with this pressure in the area. The spiritual hawk disappeared as the flames pushed down with this wind sealing the flame as the chains locked, securing the enemy. That had spiritual aura showed as an icy blue flame that came out for a short time. Then it burned out with this wind that pushed down on to her as she gasped from the draining effects. Frostbreaker tried to summon her spiritual aura with no luck, not even able to get her hawk out anymore to fight. She looked like a regular wolf in the wild, except she was locked up in chains. Now being locked up in chains deciding not to leave, Flameblazer told Frostbreaker. “I’m going have to take you to the Priconail Den.”
“Your prison den won’t stop me from escaping!” she huffed at the thought of it, moving her paws trying to break the lock with what energy she had. It was no use with any sign of budging, but she continued to yank at it. The metal chains clanged from the force, relaxing with a rattle.
“There is no use fighting the chains, you won’t be able to escape! This den is no ordinary den.” Flameblazer walked closer to the enemy who had disapproved her coming any closer. “Your pack is not getting these lands!”
“That is what you think! Nobody will be able to stop us, when our Sensei releases his dark aura. He is on his way creating a new pack for the secret clans, making five, unleashing this new darkness he has found. This is more powerfully than the mighty forces, and my snow pack and your fire pack is working together to make sure it is done.” Frostbreaker tried to summon her spiritual power one last time. I saw nothing happen with any tension from her aura. “Why can’t I use my spiritual powers, what have you done?” she asked shocked and in rage from not being able to escape.
“Frostbreaker you must be a new pack recruit, because I don’t recognize you at all. This technique is one of the most forbidden; only a select few ever know about this spiritual skill that is complicated to master. You have to be chosen otherwise you can be severely punished by the gods and goddesses! They only trust certain wolves because they’re afraid it will be abused. I sealed your aura, and the only way to get your powers back is to remove them.” she directed some of the moon members surrounding her and the enemy to follow her. Frostbreaker was taken to the Priconail Den.
Cloud stood here beside me with some of the defenders that kept guard, while Flameblazer decided to take some with her. “What is the Priconail Den, Cloud?” I asked.
“That’s like the chains of Flameblazer it seals the aura where they can’t use it. It is very hard to escape from unless someone lets you out. She is the one that created the den and nobody has ever seen powers like hers before, I’m glad she is on our side.” Cloud replied watching Frostbreaker being taken below, unhappy about being captured.
There was a victory howl in the distance sounding like Sensei Thunder Fang. They were letting us know they’re on their way home to the den. Cloud and other wolves joined in on the victory howl as I just stood there watching petrified. My heart pumped faster wondering what I should do at that moment, lost in the fear. The sound of the howling had doubled almost tripled in sound. Flameblazer was coming out, noticing I wasn’t howling encouraging me to join in on the pack. I felt out of place, I tried to walk away when Kit Furry came my way, so much for avoiding howling altogether.
Flameblazer caught up to me, “What’s the matter?”
“Oh, nothing,” I lied between my fangs as I howled right there. I heard them howl way before I did, as my voice felt dry with my voice box fighting to do what I want. I have no problem with talking, but when howling it is a completely different story. Waiting as five seconds went by with nothing happening. My voice finally kicked in like someone had punched their claws in my throat. I lifted my neck up in the air feeling the thrill and losing into the packs sound. I felt refreshed after we’re done, I walked over where the pups had trained earlier to look in the sky shifting into the direction of the woods were they had battled.
Then a moment later the Moonwarriors returned from the battle in the fang zone. Sensei Thunder Fang was helping Moonraker leaning up against him to make it easier to walk. He was injured real good as the others were just as bad going to a specific den. Flameblazer had gone over to help with the injured Moonwarriors.
“You two Moonwarriors go inside the earth den and get the earthwolves.” Sensei Thunder Fang ordered.
The Moonwarriors that were fine reunited with their family packs. There was a first quarter moon out with the stars surrounding it. Then later I saw the two Moonwarriors bringing out the earthwolves. One of them could have been old as Sensei Thunder Fang. The wolf looked earth colored as the ground with brown fur that had hints of grey.
Their spiritual powers felt calming as a griffin appeared, that flew with the other mythical spiritual healing creatures. These earthwolves were gathering herbs and leaves with the help of their friends. The Moonwarriors laid the items down near the entrance of the earth den.
She knew what I was thinking as I was about to ask who she was, “That is Earth Sensei Sakura. She is known as the Superior Earthwolf.” Kit Furry taught me about her pack.
“How come there are two leads?” I asked.
“That depends on your training and level of experience since she is in a different section. Plus the Earthwolves and Moonwarriors joined together not many packs do that in one area. In fact I think we’re the only ones that have done It.” she answered.
I walked toward Flameblazer who made sure the last of the injured were taken care of. There wolves that were covered in leaves, the earthwolves were along with their Sensei chewing up the herbs. Then placed it on the leaf so it could be placed on the injuries and heal.
“Why aren’t those spiritual creatures healing them right away?” I asked seeing no point in what they’re doing.
“There spirits that can’t heal directly like you think healing takes time. These mythical beings enhance the herbs healing effects to bring back to full strength.” Kit Furry explained to me as I listened with amazement from the abilities that were used in their history.
“I like how you’re teaching our culture to him, let me tell you what I know about these sacred lands, they have been blessed by these rare spirits. When a wolf is born, a spirit will choose a pup taking the one they think is suitable.” Flameblazer spoke in respect for young pup’s actions.
“So your saying in order to inherit these spirits you have to be in these lands?” I asked.
“Yes, thank you Flameblazer, I didn’t see you approach.” Kit Furry thanked with a bow of respect for the third in command.
“Can someone that wasn’t born here, and spent time here inherit a spirit?” I asked curious to find out the answer.
“No, the spirits are hardly ever or never interested in wolves that haven’t been born in these sacred lands. Kit Furry you’ll help out Mystical while I’m gone at times.” Flameblazer ordered pleased from right now how she was teaching some of their history.
“Yes Alpha Commander!” Kit Furry acknowledged her command following her orders. “But I haven’t been ranked yet.”
“Don’t worry about that, I’ll be seeing the Sensei later, I can tell you this much we’re both impressed by your abilities. You have a lot to learn Kit Furry and Mystical, you both will be next den neighbors. So if you need help you can ask her.” Flameblazer explained from the fact if she was gone doing a mission and can’t help. We walked to a different side where there were a few dens. That might have not been owned by any of the wolves.
“Thank you for your hospitality Flameblazer and Kit Furry.” I responded in appreciation for what they have been doing.
“You’re welcome both of you, but Mystical you should rest for the night.”
“Alright Flameblazer,” I said heading into my new den that she directed me to as the stars lit up inside, so I could see inside pretty well. The other two wolves had gone into their dens, not knowing if Flameblazer was close to us or not. I had fallen asleep soon as I hit the ground in this den that was pretty roomy for one wolf.
“What are you doing here? These are sacred lands! You’re forbidden to stay here!” There was some type of aura streaming in the pitch darkness, but I was unable to see the color clearly. This spirit wasn’t friendly toward my presence being here. “If you stay here beyond your warning this next night will be your last and I’ll have to use forceful measures!”
