Exceptional piece of work

"Yes, it's exceptional but in my oppinion it's unfinished. I think that it really deserves (and needs) a fitting conclusion. I strongly suggest to the writer to finish this story because it has a huge potential. The writing style is great, the story is intriguing and there is a lot of mistery in it. It has almost everything, except the ending. This is the only reason I gave four stars for the plot, otherwise I would have given five without hesitation. Cliffhangers and believable characters add to the greatness of the story. The detailed knowledge of the era in which the plot is situated is obvious. The writer either has an extensive knowledge of history or he is an experienced researcher. On a side note, this story reminds me of The Alienist by Caleb Carr which is an amazing book and I recommend it. Keep writing because you are definately good at it!"

Variations on a Gothic Theme

"This is a very clever story in the style of 19th century (and turn of the century) Gothic writing, very reminiscent of Stevenson's The Body Snatchers or even of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (less so of Frankenstein itself, since the author is more minimalist than Shelley's florid, Romantic rhetoric). It's not so much a retelling as a re-imagining, and the writing is quite skillful in paying homage to its Gothic forebearers while giving modern readers more of what we miss and long for in a work like Frankenstein. It's fast=paced and tense, and a wonderfully rewarding story--and I haven't even finished all the chapters yet! But I wanted to urge those who are considering reading it to jump aboard; it's a shoe-in to win top honors in this contest. ."

A Masterpiece without an ending

"💎Well, the story was interesting, even though it was short. 💎I really enjoyed the given backstories of nearly every character here, that made the book stand out, be different, and helped me ro understand why are they doing things that they are doing in the novel. 💎My favorite character would be the Sheradin, because his arc nearly brought goosebumps on my back, they were mysterious and unsettling, in the built up atmosphere (which the author was a genius at by the way, great writing style) and since this was a horror novel, those few chapters did the job perfectly. The story as a whole didn't have that much horror, but the lingering feeling of uneasiness was present, so for me that was good enough 💎Furthermore I enjoyed the XIX century build up in this novel, and it was really xciting to read, because that was what I was seeking for, and stumbled onto this novel. The captured century, the job of the police during that period, the wealthy life style was greatly shown. And made me emerged in this book even more. 💎The biggest problem with this novel is that it is unfinished, in so I'm left without the resolution, that is truly sad, I'll be praying that the author of this would make a sequel. Moreover there were a few misspelled words in the start of the novel, but I don't even recall where they were... 💎All in all, a fantastic read! Praise to the author! 💞👍"
