Summary

Aislyn is a girl trapped between two worlds. On one side: a cruel father, a life of isolation at school, and long nights working in a bar filled with cigarette smoke… On the other: a silent boy with eyes as blue as the sky — a shadow of someone who seems to have lived through a thousand wars without saying a word. Aislyn’s life changes the night a table is overturned at the bar. From the boy’s notebook spill battle maps, ruined cities, a people she’s never known… And her own face. Two strangers find themselves tied to a secret that holds the fate of two different worlds. A shattered stone, a mysterious script that binds the past and the future, and a bond that will be born in the heart of war… This is not just a love story. It is the story of two souls learning to become a world for each other. And sometimes… One glance can speak more than a thousand words.

"The Broken Face of the Night"

Aislyn’s Perspective

Waking up isn’t the start of a new day for me — it’s facing the same darkness left behind from the night before.

There’s no alarm anymore. My body runs like a clock. No matter how tired I am, I always wake to the muffled voice of my father, and the echo of his anger bouncing off the walls.

As his footsteps draw near, my insides freeze.

Every morning, the same prayer rests on my lips:

“Please don’t touch me today… just stay silent today.”

But he always touches. He never stays silent.

The house, with its damp walls, presses down on me.

In his eyes, I’m not a person — I’m a burden.

“What good are you, huh?” he shouts, hurling dishes across the counter.

Before school, I scrub the floors, make breakfast, wash the dishes.

I’m only seventeen. But in his eyes, I’m not a child — I’m a mistake he never wanted.

Even school isn’t an escape.

Among the branded shoes, I walk in with my worn soles. I move alone through merciless stares.

“Poor girl.”

“Look at her.”

Small whispers mix with laughter.

Sometimes people don’t hit you with fists — they hit with words.

Every day I sit in the same seat by the window.

During breaks, I write imaginary names in my notebook.

“What if someone truly saw me? What would that feel like?”

But dreams… are the quietest traps of loneliness.

When class ends, I don’t go home. I go to the bar.

The place reeks of drunkenness. Cigarettes, alcohol, sweat… People come here to forget.

But me… I live to remember. Who I am… and why I’m still here…

And then… that boy.

For the past week, he’s been coming at the same time every night.

He sits quietly at the corner table.

Never orders anything. Never speaks. He just writes.

His eyes are as blue as the sky.

His hair is pale like snow.

He doesn’t seem to belong to this world.

Or maybe… not even to this time.

I’m curious about him.

For the first time, I’m truly curious about someone.

But I can’t get close.

To me, he’s just a silhouette under dim light.

And I…

In my own story, I’m nothing more than a ghost.

I really enjoyed this chapter, especially because the book has a unique aura. The author has written it in a distinctive style, which gives it a truly special atmosphere. The mysterious tone adds even more depth, and I believe it’s a chapter that anyone could read and love. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next part!

The girl’s story is touching. Longer chapters could add depth, but overall it’s really good. Well done! 🐼
