Shady
I woke up one day and found that my husband was not in my room like he usually was.
What was in the room instead was a note that said, “We’re fake border patrol agents, and we’ve just convinced your husband that he has to come with us because the government is acting so shady that it’s easy to get away with this.
Luckily for you, we won’t harm him and will return him to you IF you give us a million bucks.
We don’t care how you get the money, but you’d better have it within a week or else your husband will die.
Have a great day!
P.S. Don’t worry about how to get us the money. Just be at your house with the money next week, and don’t go to the cops or we’ll kill your husband.”
I sat there in stunned silence, and I couldn’t believe that this was happening to me…
F the government for acting so f-ing shady that these evil people could do this!
Although it might’ve been even worse if it actually had been the government, because I knew about citizens and non-citizens alike being deported to horrific situations that they’d be unlikely to be able to return from.
But this situation was only better than that if I could actually get a million bucks, and I had no idea how to do that…
And maybe I would normally go to the police, but the warning was clear and I didn’t want going to law enforcement to ensure that my husband would be murdered…
And so the question seemed to be how to get a million bucks in a week…
I had 50k saved up, and so I COULD go to a high stakes casino and hope to get extremely luck and win a pass bet at craps 5 times in a row…
I mean, normally it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do, but if I could get really lucky and win that bet then I wouldn’t have to rob a bank or something to get the million…
And so I quickly got dressed, drove to a high stakes casino, and began making the bets…
Obviously, in most parts of the multiverse I lost and had to rob a bank or something, but in this part of the multiverse I did indeed get extremely lucky and won all 5 bets.
You might think that this meant that I now had 1,600,000 bucks, but that’s not the case because I only bet 200k on the final bet so that if I would’ve lost that time then I could’ve continued betting.
Again, I want to be very clear that I DO NOT RECOMMEND betting at a casino to try n’ make a bunch of money.
I got extremely lucky (in this part of the multiverse), and odds are that you WON’T get lucky like I did.
And so I went home, and now I had about a week to wait for my husband to hopefully be returned to me.
After a week of me crying and pacing and not sleeping or eating well, a masked man entered my abode, took the money from me, and told me that my husband was now tied up in my kitchen.
Then the masked man exited my abode with the money, and I rushed! over to my husband to untie him!
“Frank!” I said as I sobbed and untied him, “I was so scared that I would never see you again!” and he sobbed too and said, “Franny! Thank you for saving me!! You didn’t have to steal for the money, did you?…”
“I got extremely lucky in gambling,” I said, “though we’re now 50k poorer because I used 50k of ours as the money to gamble with.”
“Thank God!” Frank said through sobs that were more joyful now, “I’d hate to think what might’ve happened if you hadn’t gotten so lucky!”
“Things could’ve definitely gone worse, for sure!” I said; and then Frank said, “And now we’re going to hire some detectives to find those monsters who kidnapped me and bring them to justice!”
“Are you sure?” I asked worriedly, “I mean, wouldn’t it be better to just not risk angering them?”
“They’ll do it again,” Frank said, “and so we have to stop them!
I mean, maybe not again to us, but I don’t want anybody else to have to go through this either!”
“Well,” I said, “I’ve heard that there are 3 detectives named Yatra, Hal, and Milburn who are pretty cheap to hire and usually succeed in solving cases…
Do you wanna ask them if they’ll help us figure out who did this to us?”
“Absolutely!” Frank said, “Right after we eat a meal and have a bit of coffee, I’m 100% down to head over to those detectives and see if they can bring these thieving and murdering kidnappers to justice!…”
