Chapter 1- Entrusting a Responsibility
I thought that, it was just going to be a normal routine day of my life. Waking up, going to college, coming home, go to the shop to help out grandfather and then study and sleep.
But who knew that it will give a new start to my life.
I was in hospital sitting next to my grandfather who was lying on the bed. He had an brain stroke that morning and doctor said he doesn't have much time. I was holding back my tears as I didnt wanted to be weak in front of him. Suddenly my inner thoughts were broken by a very faint voice of my grandfather. I came closer to his bed.
“Fuji my boy, my end is near, but before dying, I want to entrust my last responsibility to you." He started saying.
”My child, the end of earth is near and only one thing can prevent it and it is the book which holds the secrets of seven mountains. If you will go to my room, you will find one small box and it will have a key. It's the key to open the box of book. And for the box, you will have to go to Uwajima. There you will have to find my friend Yamada Hiroshi, just tell him that you are my grandchild and you want to open the lock, he will guide you to the location of book. Remember one thing, now the whole mankind is in your hands, if you fail in your job then the whole world will perish. Remember this my child, and my blessings will always be with you.
As soon as he completed, he took his last breath.
After 5 days of his death, my mind got habituated to the loss, and I started thinking about his last words.
I went inside his room.
He was a man, whose needs were simple, his room didn't have much things yet there was a different atmosphere, it gave a sense of soothingness to one's mind. After some searching through his drawers and cupboard, I found the box and inside it was a golden key. It had the most unique design which I had ever seen.
I called my friend, his name is Sota, and said to him that I am heading to Uwajima, for some urgent work.
“ Why so suddenly Fuji”, he asked
“ I can't explain it all Sota, but it's a thing which my grandfather entrusted to me and I have to complete it.” I replied.
“Should I come along with you?”
“Thanks for asking Sota, but it's a job which I will have to do alone”
“ What is the thing for which you are going?”
“I also don't know, what it is. But as per my grandfather it is of utmost importance, something which will define the future, I am sorry, but I cannot tell you any further details.“
”Okay, just be careful, if you need any help then just give me a call“
”For now, just send me any important notice from college and class notes, rest I will tell you as per needs.“
I packed my things and started checking out trains for my destination. My mind was blank, I had no idea of what is going to happen but I had faith on grandfather and with this I started on the journey which was going to be one of the turning points of my life and which would unfold a great series of adventures.
