Chapter 1: "The Fall of the Strongest"
The sky above the Kingdom of Veylor split like shattered glass.
A wave of blinding blue light surged through the clouds, followed by a pulse so strong it knocked birds out of the sky. Arcane bells rang out from distant watchtowers. Rune circles activated across the capital, sensing the arrival of something—someone—far beyond this world.
High above the Forest of Mourning, a figure fell from the sky like a star cast down by angry gods. Blue lightning wrapped around him. Wind screamed as reality bent. Then—BOOM—he struck the earth with a force that made mountains tremble.
The explosion sent ash and smoke rolling through the forest. Trees, some as old as the empire itself, splintered and fell. Creatures of shadow fled deeper into the dark. When the dust settled, there was silence… until he stirred.
The man stood tall at the center of the crater, brushing soot from his black cloak. His white hair ruffled in the breeze, streaked with silver sparks. Cracks glowed along his skin for a moment—residual energy—then vanished.
He exhaled deeply.
“Ugh. 11 out of 10 on the pain scale,” he muttered, pulling off his torn blindfold and blinking into the golden twilight. His eyes—brilliant, glowing blue, like twin galaxies—sparked beneath long lashes. “Definitely not Shibuya. Not even Earth, I think.”
His name was Gojo Satoru. In his world, he was a legend. The strongest sorcerer alive. The wielder of the Six Eyes and the Limitless Technique. Teacher. Protector. Occasionally... a total pain in the neck.
Here? He didn’t belong.
He scanned the area. No cursed energy signatures. No familiar souls. No Yuji. No Nobara.
“...Guys?” he called, his voice echoing through the trees. “Seriously, not funny. I told you to stay close.”
Nothing.
Then, something stirred at the edge of the crater—a small figure, cautiously stepping into view. She looked no older than seventeen. Her long silver hair was tied back with a leather cord, and her robe shimmered with enchantments. In her right hand, she held a staff made of polished dragonbone, runes glowing faintly along its length.
Her eyes locked on him with a mixture of awe and fear.
“You fell from the sky,” she said quietly.
“Yeah. Sorry about the mess.” Gojo gestured to the crater. “New to the neighborhood.”
“You’re not from this world,” she said. “You’re... like a hole in the weave of magic.”
Gojo tilted his head.
“Cute. You’re smart. What’s your name?”
“Ashley,” she replied slowly. “Apprentice of the Circle of Flame. Who are you?”
He flashed a grin and pointed at himself.
“Gojo Satoru. Sorcerer. Teacher. Kinda famous back home.”
Ashley stepped closer, cautious.
“You’re… cursed.”
Gojo blinked. “Takes one to know one.”
She flinched. “I didn’t mean—”
“Relax,” he said, holding up a hand. “I’m not offended. I am cursed, technically. Just very good at handling it.”
Ashley stared at his glowing blue eyes. “What... are you?”
Gojo thought for a moment. “Let’s just say I’m complicated.”
Miles away, far beyond the reach of Gojo’s voice, another body stirred.
Beneath the ruins of an ancient ziggurat, overgrown with roots and moss, Yuji Itadori woke with a groan. His shirt was torn, his arms scraped. Blood caked his forehead, but his eyes still burned with willpower.
“Ow… Where am I?” he whispered, clutching his head. “Sensei? Nobara?”
Only silence answered.
The stone chamber glowed faintly with magical sigils—unlike anything from their world. No cell signal. No cursed energy. Just a lingering hum of wild, untamed magic.
Yuji stood slowly, fists clenched.
“Okay, not a dream. So either we’re in some alternate dimension... or Gojo-sensei tried to teleport us and screwed it up again.”
His stomach growled.
“Great. Lost in fantasy land and hungry.”
Not far from him, deep in the Valley of Stones, Nobara Kugisaki sat in the middle of a shattered battlefield—bodies of armored beasts scattered around her. Her hammer dripped with blood and curse residue.
“I swear, if Gojo doesn’t explain what the hell just happened—” she growled, wiping her face.
She stood slowly, bruised but unbroken. The air felt off. No cursed energy. Just whispers—ancient, magical, and entirely unfamiliar.
She looked up at the blood-red moon overhead.
“This better not be one of those weird training exercises. I will nail him to the wall.”
Back in the crater, Ashley cautiously offered Gojo a small blue stone.
“This is a soul-link shard. If you really don’t belong here… this might stabilize you. Temporarily.”
Gojo took the stone, inspecting it curiously.
“Cute toy,” he said, tucking it into his robe. “You’re really helpful, Ashley. You sure you’re not secretly one of my students?”
She tilted her head. “Do all your students fall from the sky?”
Gojo’s grin widened.
“Only on Thursdays.”
A loud, echoing roar shook the ground. Trees in the distance split as something massive approached — a shadowed figure taller than a cathedral, with molten veins and a crown of antlers.
Ashley gasped. “No. That’s… That’s a Gateborn Beast. They only awaken when something disturbs the boundary between realms.”
Gojo stepped forward, cracking his knuckles.
“Well then. Let’s make a first impression.”
He lowered his blindfold over his eyes, smiled wide, and whispered:
“Limitless: Activated.”
