Camelon-Chapter 1

## Chapter 1

**“Camelon”**

In the land of myth and the time of magic, the destiny of a great kingdom lay on the shoulders of a great man. His name was Merlin.

After Merlin buried Arthur in a castle in the middle of the lake, along with the Great Dragon, he decided to take a trip to clear his mind. He sent a letter to Guinevere that read:

"Sorry, my lady.

I have failed to save King Arthur.

I am not going to come back to the castle.

I wish you a long and happy life.

Your friend and servant,

Merlin.”

He was so frustrated that he just walked in the opposite direction of Camelot. When he became exhausted, he placed his belongings on the ground, gathered wood from the jungle, and started a fire using the spell “Ignis.” The wood lit up, and as he warmed himself in the middle of nowhere, he murmured to himself:

- “What have I done? Wasn’t I supposed to protect King Arthur—my best friend, my king—from dying? How could I be this weak and careless? I wasn’t even able to kill Morgana. I just made her faint.”

He answered himself in desperation:

- “Well... I’m not a killer. I’m a savior, a protector.”

He began to cry, murmuring again:

- “What am I going to do? Why am I still alive? What am I supposed to do? The prophecy I was meant to fulfill is long gone. Albion is gone...”

He burst into tears. A soft voice spoke:

- “Don’t cry. Everything is going to be okay. Your future is bright. You have one hell of an adventure ahead of you.”

Surprised, merlin drew his sword and shouted:

- “Who’s there? Show yourself!”

A very tall and thin woman with green hair and a tree-like body appeared from the shadows, wearing a red dress over her bark-like skin.

- “Relax, Mr. Merlin—or should I call you Emrys? My name is Gideon. I only appear to hopeless, helpless, aimless, yet promising magical people. I will guide you until you understand your purpose. If you want, I’ll stay with you forever. Otherwise, I move on to help others—through time and space.”

Merlin looked at her with suspicion and surprise.

- “Is that so? Then tell me—what should I do now?”

Gideon smiled.

- “From what I know, you should start fulfilling the dreams of magical people.”

Gideon paused, then asked:

- “Do you know what their dream is?”

merlin replied lazily:

“They want to live in a world where they can do magic freely without being executed.”

- “Well done, Mr. Merlin.”

- “But how am I supposed to do that?“,merlin asked

- “Before calling them to this place—which has wood, water, and food—you need to learn a bunch of magical spells and skills.“,Gideon Answered

merlin looked Puzzled: “Who’s going to teach me? I don’t have my magical book with me.“,

- “Me, my dear.“,Gideon Said

- “How do you know magic, Gideon?”

- “I don’t know. For as long as I can remember, I’ve looked like a tree and have known every magical spell—including ancient, druid, mother-earth, white, and good magic. I can see the past and future of any person... except myself.“,Gideon admitted

gideon smirked:

“It’s ironic, isn’t it?”

- “Yes, very ironic,” merlin said, now enthusiastic:

“Can you teach me how to see someone’s past and future?”

- “I can teach you everything—except that. That job belongs to the druids. They’ll teach you, and then you can teach others.“,Gideon Admitted

- “But all the druids I’ve encountered were our enemies. I doubt they’ll help me.“,Merlin Said

- “You’d be surprised... if only you could see the future.”

- “Then enlighten me.”

- “After I’ve taught you the spells you need, I’ll tell you everything about your future—and it will blow your mind.”

She winked.

- “Now sleep well. We have a lot to do tomorrow.”

She placed her fingers on Merlin’s forehead, gently laying his head onto his belongings. His eyes grew heavy, and he instantly fell asleep.

---

He slowly opened his eyes, seeing sunlight filtering through the green leaves above him. He thought to himself, *Am I in heaven?*

- “Good morning, sunshine! Did you sleep well? Do you remember me?”

He stood up and replied dryly:

- “The tree girl, right?”

- “Haha, very funny. I look much better in a mirror. Since you don’t have one, I guess I look like a tree to you.”

She conjured a meal out of thin air and handed it to Merlin.

- “Here you go. You need to eat. Then we’ll begin.”

Merlin looked at her in surprise.

- “You have to teach me that trick.”

She nodded.

After breakfast, Gideon paced back and forth in front of Merlin, counting on her fingers:

- “First, we need to learn the Immortalize Potion.

- Second, how to build a massive, indestructible defensive shield.

- Third, how to make a signal to call all magical people here.

- Fourth, how to build castles and houses from wood and rock.

- Fifth, how to teleport in one piece.

- Sixth, how to time travel.

- Seventh, how to fight with spells.

- Eighth, how to heal people and bring them back to life.

- Ninth, how to enter a temporal time zone without spending real-life time.”

She paused.

- “That’s all I can remember for now. Let’s practice these.”

- “Practice all this? I’d need at least ten years! Who do you think I am?”

- “Based on what I’ve heard from your great-great-great-granddaughter and your friends, you’re a powerful and smart wizard. You’ll learn them in a week.”

- “My granddaughter?” he scratched his chin.

- “Did not see that coming.”

- “Let’s start.”

---

They went to the beach, and she said,

“I know I said those in order, but I’m gonna teach you how to build houses. Now close your eyes, feel the woods, rocks, and sands around you, and then give them the shape you like in your head. Say: *‘aedificium construere.’*”

He closed his eyes, felt the sand, rocks, and wood around him, then imagined a little cottage and said,

“*Aedificium construere.*”

The sand, wood, and rocks began to swirl around each other. Rocks crushed into little pieces, sand became wet, and the wood turned into small, uniform timbers. Together, they formed a lovely little cottage with a round ceiling, gray rock and timber walls, and a small square window.

Gideon’s eyes went as round as possible, and in surprise, she shouted,

“I HEARD YOU WERE GOOD, BUT NOT THAT GOOD!”

“I don’t know what’s happening to me,” he replied. “But since Arthur’s death, I feel... different. Like something inside me shattered. I was never able to cast a spell successfully on the first try.”

“Maybe telling the truth about yourself to him made you stronger,” she said thoughtfully, scratching her chin.

“Or maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know.”

They trained for nearly a week. He learned every spell after just one try. He was still shocked by it, but it made him feel stronger—and happier.

---

“So, King Merlin, make your city.”

“Can’t we just relax? I feel drained. I need at least a week to rest.”

“Ugh, humans,” she rolled her eyes. “Fine. Rest well, my king.”

Merlin summoned a plate of food out of thin air by saying,

“*Sapidum cibum*,”

then went into the cottage, ate, and slept.

---

Merlin woke to the sound of birds. He ate something, created an axe from rock and wood, and used the strengthening spell,

“*Confirma*,”

to start cutting trees.

Gideon suddenly appeared as he successfully chopped one down and said,

“You can use the copy spell—I forgot to teach you. You’ll need ten thousand trees and ten thousand rocks to make the castle. To copy trees, say: *‘Arbores imitari milibus.’* For rocks: *‘Saxa imitari milibus.’*”

Merlin nodded, closed his eyes, and said the words. Trees and rocks multiplied by the thousands. Smiling at Gideon, he started to imagine the castle.

He envisioned a grand hall for feasts and parties, two rooms on the first floor, a large meeting room for leaders on the second floor, with two small side rooms for planning. The third to fifth floors would belong to the king and important officials—more than fifty rooms in total, including bathrooms. Beneath the hall, he built a dungeon for prisoners. The sixth floor, with twenty rooms, would house servants—Gideon’s idea. She believed in giving people work, even though he could clean everything with a spell:

“*Redige loco isto.*”

He also built a large barn and stable for horses, cows, chickens, and sheep.

---

“Bloody hell,” said Gideon. “I forgot to teach you how to turn rocks and coal into gold and diamonds.”

“We can *make* gold and diamonds with magic?” Merlin asked, amazed.

“Of course! You just need the right ingredients to create something valuable.”

“Wow, this is incredible.”

“I’m gonna make your country the richest ever,” she giggled. “Now make beautiful cottages for the villagers.”

“We need more wood and rocks,” he said. Then he imagined over fifty houses with two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom, a bar, bakery, grocery store, tailor, herb shop, physician’s office, potion shop, home appliance store, two wells, a magical fountain in the center, and greenery all around the village.

He smiled and asked, “What do you think?”

“It looks amazing! But you need to make plumbing and glass for windows.”

“Oh dear, I almost forgot. We need sand, wood ash, and clay for plumbing pipes. Where should we put the wastewater container?”

“Don’t worry—outside the village, near the jungle, will be perfect.”

Together, they built a beautiful city.

---

“What should we call this country?” Merlin asked.

“Camelon.”

“Sounds like a good name.”

“Now summon magical people to your country.”

“Fine.” He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, gathered the energy around him, and moved his hands in a circle.

Then he said,

“*Ad meam patriam magica magica populi tui.*”

A glowing red and green circle appeared in his hands. He pulled it toward himself, then pushed it outward. The glowing circle flew into the sky, split into millions of tiny lights, and Flow Away To the world Toward Magical People Around The world.

“That was beautiful,” Gideon whispered.

“I know, right? Let’s go make you a mirror.”

“Make at least five mirrors in every room.”

“Only five in common rooms. One per bedroom is enough.”

“Ugh, alright.”

“If you don’t like mirrors, we can stick with the tree form.”

“Oh no! I *want* to look pretty again. I look hideous in this tree form, but in mirrors, I look beautiful.”

“Fine. Let’s go make mirrors and wear those beautiful clothes I made.”

He put his arm around her shoulders, and they walked to the castle.

---

For a moment, he stopped and asked,

“Aren’t you supposed to tell me everything about the future?”

She looked at him with shame, tilted her head to the right, and replied,

“I can’t tell you everything—just that you and the druids will become the greatest allies Earth has ever seen. Your female descendant will help you greatly. You’ll live a long, glorious, and brave life. And yes... you’ll drink that immortal potion. Based on what I saw, you have over a thousand years ahead to fulfill your destiny.”

“This is amazing. Thank you, Gideon. You’re amazing.”

He kissed her cheek and added,

“But I still hate that immortal potion. It’s devastating to live so long... alone.”

Her brown cheeks turned red, but she hid it and said,

“Don’t worry. You’re not going to be alone.”
