The Spiral Nights
In a world filled with Moon Night powers, a rare sight of occurrence had caught the view of people on Sirth (planet) on May 29th, year 2109. The Moon glowed and started being covered with Moon Night energy. The Moon had officially begun spiralling with Moon Night energy. Four miniature moons were shot out of the Spiral Moon and landed in four separate kingdoms, causing Sirth to vibrate.
After one landed in the Comet Kingdom, civilians noticed its size. It was the size of the castle next to it. Before anyone could reach the miniature moon that landed, it glowed brightly, preventing anyone from coming closer. As the miniature moon glowed so bright, a baby fled into the woods. The second it stopped glowing, the civilians glanced at the crater and started chattering.
A middle-aged man with black hair, a black moustache, and hazel-green eyes, known as King Faris Kattan, had approached the crater. He was wearing a black and white keffiyeh scarf, beige vest, black thobe, and black sandals. The name "Elara Moonlight" was on the crater. Nevertheless, everyone just wondered about the disappearance of the miniature moon.
King Faris stared up at the Moon spiralling. He felt suspicious after the mysterious events that had occurred tonight.
In the meantime, the baby was alone in the woods. Though with wings flapping around, she glanced and looked up at a tree. It wasn't any ordinary creature. And it wasn't any ordinary mythical creature. That creature was the "Moon Phoenix" that the baby was looking at. The Moon Phoenix's feathers were white and grey that glowed naturally, with sapphire blue eyes that glowed.
He flew down and stood in front of the baby. "Your name is Elara Moonlight. For the next five years, I will be your guardian." The Moon Phoenix had spoken.
Over the years, the Moon Phoenix was always taking care of Elara, feeding her, and teaching her. Elara was once a two-year-old, wearing a white t-shirt and white pants. She grew a bit of silver blonde hair with bangs, along with having sapphire blue eyes. She was laughing and running around. Nevertheless, as she stopped, she glanced at the Comet Kingdom while she was in the forest. She couldn't help but wonder about the civilisation in the kingdom. She never thought about why they were always hiding in the forest.
As she took a few steps to leave the forest, the Moon Phoenix stopped her from walking out, telling her that she was not yet ready.
Elara was once a three-year-old. She held some water from the river to drink. Nevertheless, she fell. She struggled to swim, yelled, and cried for help. That river was leading up to a waterfall.
The Moon Phoenix flew into the water and caught her before she could fall. He carried her to safety. Elara cried and hugged the Moon Phoenix, scared, not knowing what was going to happen to her.
"There, there. Don't worry. You're safe, my dear child." The Moon Phoenix comforted her. He patted her with his wings as she cried.
Once Elara had turned into a 4-year-old, the Moon Phoenix raised his wing and summoned a Mystic Moon. The Mystic Moon was small. The Mystic Moon glowed in front of Elara's eyes. As it disappeared, Elara took a deep breath and started trying to summon the Mystic Moon with both her hands. As she was trying, she struggled and wasn't able to.
"I'm not as powerful as you..." Elara looked down. "You will soon be, my young one. Just as everyone has Moon Night powers, you will have the Mystic Moon Night powers. When you're told to use your powers, remember that they're enabled to be used during the day. That's how Moon Night powers work." The Moon Phoenix assured her and explained how the Night Moon powers function.
"Are Moon Night powers magic?" Elara asked. "No, my young one. Moon Night, and magic are different. Moon Night is a power we moon creatures have created. Magic requires spells. And your power is not Moon Night. It's Mystic Moon Night. Meaning, only you, along with very few people, can summon a Mystic Moon with the palms of your hands." The Moon Phoenix had explained.
Elara stared at the Spiral Moon spiralling. She felt the need to ask why the Moon was spiralling. The Moon Phoenix stared at it quietly for a few moments, feeling sentimental. He assured her that she would understand the Spiral in the future.
As a bit of time passed, Elara was a five-year-old. On the Spiral Night, she begged the Moon Phoenix not to leave her. She cried, expressing her wanting to be with him. "I'm sorry if I did something wrong! Please don't go!" Elara cried. "You did nothing wrong. I'm sorry, dear child... I have to fly back to the Moon. It's my duty. The Moon has been spiralling for so long; if it spirals much longer, it will prevent for the Moon and Sirth from moving..." The Moon Phoenix explained, feeling emotion.
"Then take me with you! We can live together on the Moon! I'm a Mystic Moon Night, aren't I?! I don't want to be alone!" She cried and begged. The Moon Phoenix hugged her to comfort her.
"My dear child... I have a secret to let you in on. As much light as I produce naturally, you're the only one who managed to light my heart. Remember everything I've taught you. In this kingdom, I heard the King is a soft-hearted man who'll help anyone. You'll find friends who are like you, and you'll have a great life. I love you, Elara Moonlight. We'll be reunited someday..." The Moon Phoenix comforted her. "I love you too... papa..." Elara hugged him tightly.
The Moon Phoenix tears flowed down from his sapphire blue eyes, devastated for his departure, yet happy she saw him as her father.
On that Spiral Night, the Moon Phoenix flew to the Spiral Moon. Within hours that night, the Moon stopped spiralling and was back to normal. Everyone was chattering, wondering about the mysterious Spiral that had vanished. No one could figure out any answers for the mysterious event that occurred over the past five years. Only one knew. And that was Elara Moonlight.
The following morning, she stepped into the open area with civilisation. She scanned the area, noticing a lot of socialism and workers. She approached a bakery and greeted him with a mumble. He noticed her and cheerfully welcomed her. He asked if she was new in town. With a gentle nod, she asked the price for a loaf of bread. He told her that the price of one loaf of bread would be two Comet Coins. Elara softly nodded and ran off.
Moments later, she started trying to fish. Nevertheless, for hours, she hadn't received a thing. After hours of waiting, she has yet not receive anything. Her stomach growled with hunger. She glanced at the moon, remembering the powers the Moon Phoenix had taught her.
She took a deep breath and started summoning the Mystic Moon with the palms of her hands. As she had, the Mystic Moon flew and floated down underwater, showing the fish swimming around the Mystic Moon. Elara knew that light would attract fish. She looked at her hook for a slight second and thought of an idea. She touched it and managed to light the entire hook.
She guided the Mystic Moon out of the water and dismissed it. She used her hook to fish and was able to capture much more, due to her technic with light Moon Night powers.
She held a basket filled with sardines and started selling. "Why, how adorable you are! How much do the fish cost?" A civilian asked. Elara told her the price for one fish would be two Comet Coins.
The lady paid her more to buy more fish. With a bit of hospitality, Elara told her to come again soon. She held her bag and noticed how well she had sold today.
Over the next week, the Comet Kingdom was suffering through a power outage. Very few civilians were using their fire and light powers. Elara thought for a few moments and came up with an idea to brighten the town. She touched the ground and released all her Moon Night energy onto the ground, lighting the town. Everyone was stunned, wondering where the light on the ground was coming from.
Elara stopped and hid, breathing heavily after using a lot of her energy to light up the town. She was hearing cheering and yelling from the civilians, happy for the light. She softly smiled, knowing she could be a help even in hiding. King Faris was stunned. He asked the civilians if they knew the one who was responsible for the light. No one knew.
The following day, Elara bought another loaf of bread and some vegetables. She went over to the town's bookshop and bought a cooking book. She vanished into the forest, reading as she was cooking. As she had finally cooked, her dinner was rice with slices of paprika and carrots. She once looked at the Moon with a smile on her face.
"Thank you for teaching me everything I needed to. I'm ready to overcome anything now!" Elara said in confidence.
The following night, she summoned the Mystic Moon again, trying to understand its purpose and the reason no one else could summon it apart from her. As she held onto it, she started feeling overwhelming energy. She walked away, leaving the Mystic Moon floating behind her. As she turned around and took a stance by raising her arm towards it, she commanded it to release its true power. The light from the Mystic Moon glowed brighter and brighter. Elara was feeling overwhelmed. The Mystic Moon then blew a shock wave of light in all directions, allowing everyone to notice where it came from. She opened her eyes and immediately dismissed the Mystic Moon and ran away to hide. A few guards approached the forest to investigate.
"Looks like I've messed up; I'll have to find someplace else in the forest to live. Though what was that amazing energy I've felt from the Mystic Moon? What did I do?" Elara questioned herself, curious more than ever about the Mystic Moon. She ran off to live and find someplace else to sleep.
What was Elara's purpose in Sirth? Why did the Moon Phoenix raise her specially? Why did the Moon Phoenix give her the power to summon the Mystic Moon? There were a lot of unanswered mysteries. Elara was yet to understand everything and find out all the answers.
