Chapter 1 Amber
I’m sitting on a grassy hill back to a tree overlooking the valley behind my home. It’s the end of spring almost summer the air is warm with a nice breeze. At least at first but thats when i smell it.
The smoke.
I jump up and turn around and then i see it my home. It’s on fire! I run as fast as my legs will take me calling the names of my parents and brother. Then I run through the side door past the kitchen and thats when i here the screaming from upstairs i run towards the foyer up the stairs and follow the screams. There comeing from my brothers room i can make only my mom saying help over the sound of someone trying to ram the door open. But theres a piece of the roof blocking the door. I try to move it but it won’t budge.
And then someone grabs me throws me over there shoulder and runs down the stairs straight to the front door.
Crash!
Thats when i wake up.
omg I've had the nightmare in different forms... startling opener! I like the peaceful start that shifts abruptly into helpless terror.
