After decades of terraforming, Mars has awakened something ancient and alien. Sayweed, a weed-like flower considered invasive and destroyed without thought, is actually the corporeal bloom of long-dormant, non-physical Martian entities. Through contact with sayweed flowers, these entities bond with human women, transforming them into sensual, transparent succubi. Their goal: to find compatible males, transform them into incubi, and continue their species.
Locals called it Sayweed, but in her tongue it was Thuléna—the silent root that sang to no one but her kind. The flower it bore, the sha’meli, opened only in the brightest sun, and only for those who had once listened with their body instead of their ears.
