Chapter 1

"I want to be ruined."

His voice right behind me, hot on my ear, and his hand was on my neck, not strangling me but rather testing me on my abilities. An Underworld Queen is known for tempting people into risks, dangers and moral compromise eventually.

This time, it seemed more of I was the one being tempted instead.

I smirked, locking eyes with him.

"That's dangerous," I replied. "You are handing yourself over to me."

He groaned in agreement, this time his chin was on my shoulder. In my years existing as an Underworld Queen, I haven't came across anyone like him. I chuckled, resting my hand on top of his, my other hand on his head.

"Go on," I whispered. "Follow your heart's desire."

He fell silent, like contemplating what I meant. His grip on my neck tightened a bit. My words was having an impact on him.

"Don't be shy."

His grip on my neck quickly loosened. I turned around to face him and he leaned in dangerously close, our noses touching.

"Your words are intoxicating, is that your poison?" He asked, whispering.

"You asked for it, Morris."

I tilted my head.

"Unless you are scared?"

8 HOURS EALIER

"Delighted to meet you, Miss Luna."

I nodded, as I took Damien Morris' hand in a handshake, one that was too long to be called a handshake.

"Likewise."

The business meeting commenced and after an hour of convincing from everyone in his office - including Damien himself - I agreed to partnering up with them.

"Thank you," Damien said with a smile that made me weak for some reason. Smiles never do a thing to me - nor to my emotions. I am Luna Bel, and I am never swayed by anyone. I led them out of the conference room and watched them as they left. I turned to Kira.

"So, the CEO. Damien Morris, right?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am. Do you want me to do a background check on him?"

"That will be appreciated."

*Phone buzz*

I reached out of my pocket to see an incoming call from my grandpa. He is the one who left me with this business after my parents died. Since then, I have been taking care of him. But 'him' meant my cousins as well, which I did not agree to. Except for one - Nikita.

"What is it this time..."

"Grandpa! Hi!"

"Luna. How did the meeting go? I hope you didn't punish them too much."

"I just did my job."

"Guess that's a no."

"Everything went well. I decided to partner up with them."

"And the man?"

"Which man?"

"Alvres."

"You mean the blind date man?"

"He's not just any man Luna. Take it seriously, he is a well-known business man. He could help you. I can talk to him and-"

"I am married to my work and have no interest in men."

"Then I have no choice but to give the shares to your younger cousin, Nikita."

"Is this about me marrying Alvres, or romance in general?"

"I don't want you dying alone and with no one to take over."

I rolled my eyes, shaking my head in the process.

"Grandpa, just put Nikita on the next person to take over and it's a win. I can teach her how the company works-"

"That's not the point Luna!"

"You mentioned death and Nikita. This is me being practical grandpa."

Kira gave me a small nudge. She whispered in my ear, "Be kind to Mr. Bel."

I sighed.

"Okay grandpa. I- (forbid me) I will go on that lunch with Alvres. In fact, I will head there right now."

"Stubborn child, was that difficult? Anyway, he is waiting for you by the restaurant. You know which one-"

"But if he does not meet my criteria, I will not hear about him further, okay?"

"Stubborn like your Underworld parents."

I shook my head, then dropped the call. I turned to look at Kira, who looks like she was ready to run away with just a glare.

"Have you eaten?" I asked, which took her by surprise.

"N-No, ma'am."

For the first time, I gave her a curt smile. "How about you go eat lunch? I am letting you go early?"

She looked at me, eyes widened. "Are you sure ma'am? What if you need help-"

Returning back to my usual self, "Go before I change my mind."

"Thank you ma'am!"

She ran to the elevators while I stood with my arms folded. Kira was my secretary. She is shy and I have no idea what made her accept this job, it was supposed to be a mock. I must admit, she is the best I have chosen, so I take back my words - I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Checking my phone one last time before packing it away, I walked to the second elevator that went to the parking lot underground.

I walked in the restaurant to find it closed. I called one of the security guards but they didn't budge.

"I could kill them in an instant," I muttered to myself. "Don't they know who I am?"

"Miss Bel!"

I turned to see Alvres walking to me with a smile. Smiles never impressed me as much as others thought. I was immediately turned off by it but that wasn't the only thing I couldn't reject him.

"Mr. Alvres," I replied.

He escorted me inside the restaurant.

"So, how was your meeting?"

"How did you know?"

"I mean, Mr. Bel told me so."

"It went well."

Some minutes passed and the conversation turned north - I was annoyed by his request.

"If we get married, we can merge our companies together-"

"What for?"

"Listen, who wouldn't want to team up with the best company in the city?"

"Me. I never agreed to it."

"Yet."

"If my grandfather fed you some delusions, I suggest you let them go."

I stood up. Bringing his face up close.

"I can keep your secret too."

I raised an eyebrow. "What secret?"

"Your killing hobby."

I pushed the chair, about to step when he swiftly was about to grab my wrist when someone else's arm came in between, Alvres' hand stopping midway. I looked up to see Damien Morris - yes. The Damien Morris protecting me from Alvres. Goodness, what got me into this situation of damsel in distress?

"Damien?" I called his name.

"Luna," he replied casually. "Nice to see you here... except with someone."

"It's called fulfilling my grandfather's wish."

I stood up, and Damien let go of Alvres' hand. "Good meeting you Mr. Alvres."

I walked away, Damien following. As soon as we got to the elevators, I immediately started questioning.

"Are you stalking me already?"

"Just looking out for you."

"I don't need saving."

"Would never make you feel that way."

He looked at me with a smile. "I just can't help it but feel ruined by you."

"How so?"

"You tell me, Luna."

He leaned close.

"Corrupt me."

8 HOURS LATER

He pulled me close, our lips crashing into each other, my hands running through his chest, unable to control myself. Himself doing the same as he swiftly pinned me to the wall, my back landing on a loud thud. His lips went from my jaw to my neck until-

"Ma'am-"

"Knocking before coming in?" I asked, without looking, my eyes still on Damien's. It was my secretary, Kira. She knows her job but sometimes looks like she has no boundaries when it comes to coming into my office.

"Sorry ma'am. I have been knocking at the door for a while."

Damien was smirking at me. His smile was intoxicating, but I refused to back out. His smile wasn't going to ruin me like it did to the others.

"But I will leave the documents on the desk."

I waited for the door to close before I moved away from Damien, heading back to the desk. It was the contract between my company and Morris'. We both believe that his loan company and my accounting company will work well, in fact, make us untouchable in the business world.

"Read over it, and we will meet whenever you are ready."

I nodded.

I locked it away in the drawer, and I faced Morris once again.

"We will meet again in a few days," I said, gesturing to the door.

"Kicking me out already?"

"I have a life outside the company to live," I replied, grabbing his tie to pull him close, our lips brushing against one another. "And as a word of caution. Don't play with fire you can't handle Morris."

"Too bad, fire is my middle name, Bel," he whispered, his finger tracing along my jaw all the way to my collarbone, as if wanting to memorize my features. "See you soon."

Both of us letting each other go, he went out with a sinister smile that made my heart beat faster than I could admit, I bet he knew it too.

I locked the office, and I followed Damien from behind, my eyes glued to my phone. I had a few people to deal with from here. Interesting life of an Underworld Queen, no?

Another incoming call this time from Nikita.

"Nikita."

"I need some help."

"No."

"Please-"

"No."

"This will be the last time-"

"No."

"I will tell grandpa about what you wrote before becoming Underworld Queen."

"..."

"Hmm?"

"Fine. What do you want?"

"A million."

"What for?"

"Remember? The CEO awards are coming. It's our turn to contribute."

"Smart girl, Nikita. I will send the funds to you."

"Thank you-"

"And you better not. Mess. It. Up."

"Grandpa will be in charge."

"Good."

I hanged up. With a sigh, I headed back to the parking lot. I had business to take care of:

Test people's self control with temptation.

"Please, your Highness. Let's rethink this, no?"

"I am not your Highness, my Lord," I replied. "I am the Underworld Queen. And don't treat me like I am about to kill you, I am no devil."

"Yes you are! You make people kill themselves, throw themselves in danger... you! You are marriage destroyer!"

I glared at the man. "Excuse me? A marriage destroyer?"

Walking up to him, I leaned in close, my tongue sharp. "It's not my fault they don't have self-control mister. They should have resisted rather than give in."

"So go ahead," I whispered in his ear, "Show me."

"I can't do it-"

"Jump."

He fell silent.

"Show me what self control looks like."

The man's body took itself to the edge of the 10-floor rooftop. I stood back, watching him as he climbed on the railings of the rooftop. He looked at me, face sweating, eyes burning with anger that will never be avenged.

"YOU!" He exclaimed, "I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL!"

"Too bad hell doesn't exist," I replied. "But yes, when the time comes, I will go to the grave."

With that he threw himself.

"Geez. Are humans prone to blaming others?"

"Yes."

Shocked, but not surprised, I turned around to see Damien entering from the rooftop door, his steps slow and with supposed meaning. Fear wasn't one of them. I folded my arms, interested in what he had to say.

"It's late," I said. "You should be at home by now."

"And how about you?" He returned the question back to me. "It's cold. I would hate for us not to work together because of you catching a cold."

I laughed, "Are you... are you catching feelings?"

He walked until he was in front of me. "Catching feelings is an understatement. I'm obsessed with you."

I was slightly taken aback by his sudden obsession confession but quickly regained composure. If I could say something - Damien was pushing my buttons. He was making me weak by the minute, and I wasn't sure if I was Underworld Queen or my title was to be rebuked because his aura was on infinity - I hate to admit, but yes.

"And you let that man die?" Damien asked, changing the subject. "Cold-"

"Cold?" I asked with a smirk.

"In a beautiful way."

Then he did it again. That sinister smile that gets me flushed every time. Luckily because we were on the dark rooftop, my reddened cheeks were hidden in the dark. I locked eyes with Morris, his smile radiating even in the dark. I leaned forward, whispering into his ear.

"Want to take the risk?"

He nodded.

"I already have."

I moved back and looked at him, not saying a word. I smirked.

"See you in a few days Morris."

I walked away from him and headed downstairs, leaving him there. I looked around for some elevators but to no luck. 10 floors down was going to be interesting.

10 FLOORS LATER

"Kira," I said, surprised to see her in this building, especially after what I had to handle some moments ago. "I did not know you live here."

"What a coincidence!"

I glared at her. She immediately knew that I could tell she lied.

"Mr. Bel sent us - Kelvin included, to look for you."

"And Mr. Morris."

Damien, on queue, appeared behind me.

"He's here. I'm here."

"We can go now," Kira said, nudging Kelvin's arm. "Glad to see you are alright!"

I nodded as I walked past them, "See you tomorrow Kira."

Kira's POV

I watched as Luna- I mean, Miss Bel walked past us, heading to her car. Working for her felt... worrisome. You don't know her thought process as she stares at you. Is she upset? Angry? Ready to fire you?

I felt that way until the meeting with Damien Morris- Mr. Morris earlier today. Although Luna wouldn't admit it, she felt something. She also wanted me to do background information on Damien...

Finally. Luna Bel was catching feelings! Well, I could not be a 100% sure because her being Underworld Queen meant that luring people into temptation was her motive to test their 'self-control'. She is a devil in heels. In a suit. But with Damien, her influence seemed to weaken. Considering how I met them in the office, about to kiss...

Soon enough, Damien excused himself, leaving Kelvin and I alone. As soon as he left, I immediately blurted the first thing that came into my mind.

"Luna has been marked by Damien."
