THE POEM——Fate’s Hand
Our love is a locked door, with the key in your hand,
I wait in silence, too afraid to demand.
Raise your hand, knock, or turn the lock…
But you never do.
A bird in an open cage, I dream of the sky,
You hung the moon for me once—
Or was it never mine
I saw you slip a ring on her finger,
Promised myself to let the feeling linger,
But everything changed, the tide turned my way,
Now I stand where she once stood that day.
They say all is fair in love and war,
Now the door is left ajar
Fate has dealt me a winning hand
I won the game I never dared to play
I traced your name in whispers and prayers
Now the universe has answered unaware
No more stolen glances, no more silent pleas
Now I stand before you, daring to be seen
I laid my heart like a gambler’s bet,
All or nothing, no safety net.
I won the game, but the rules weren’t mine,
One wrong step, and I lose the prize.
Cards on the table, no more games to play,
If I must fight for a glance—then I’ll fight all the way.
