Chapter 1
“Everyone! To your places! We’re kicking off the pilot episode today! Quickly now!” a man in a director’s chair calls out. “Going live in 3…2…1…now!”
A muscular guy with blonde hair and green eyes walks into view looking very serious before saying, “My name is Alvin Thomage. I am 33 years old and I have always been called a natural born leader. I joined Date Train hoping to find the woman of my dreams, someone I can trust. Word of advice, throughly evaluate a person’s character before deciding to trust them.”
The camera men dramatically swivel the camera to another guy. This guy has even longer blonde hair, pale blue eyes, and a scruffy brown beard. Dramatically, he holds a hand to his heart before saying, “My name is Brexton Peters. I am 19 years old and I have super powers that allow me to know exactly when a storm is coming! I joined Date Train seeking a woman who will keep me company in my storm cellar…oh, and someone I can love forever. I say, if you sense something isn’t right, it probably ISN’T right.”
The camera is then swiveled again to a third guy. This guy has pale ginger almost golden blonde hair and reddish brown eyes. He does a dramatic twirl, brandishing his cape before saying, “My name is Jackery Graybrand. I am 20 years old and I often pretend to be a Vampire…and maybe I AM a Vampire. I joined Date Train looking for someone whom I can help out with personal growth who will also help me out. My advice, take plenty of breaks. It’s easier to get things done if you’re relaxed.”
The carousel of men continues as the camera pans to a shirtless man wearing a heart charm choker. He’s got short ginger hair and grayish green eyes. He walks in, flexes, and then tucks his left hand under his right arm before saying, “My name is Spencer Grey. I am 22 years old and I love gardening and singing, sometimes combining these hobbies. I joined Date Train because singing and gardening alone just isn’t as fun as doing it with someone you love. In life, you might punch a lot of objects, but be sure that you aren’t taking on fights you cannot win.”
The camera men rush the camera to a fifth man. This guy has chin length curly red hair and pale green eyes. He throws his arms up until the air excitedly for a moment before saying, “My name is Sworwick Palters. I am 30 years old and absolutely LOVE parties and social interactions. I joined Date Train looking for my soulmate to turn every day into a party! The best advice I was ever given was when life gets tough, party on!”
The camera then pivots to a sixth man. His almost shoulder length silver hair is a bit curly at the top and he has lime green eyes. He remains silent a moment, arms crossed as though he has forgotten the show is live. Suddenly, he speaks, saying, “My name is Ludleigh Smithson. I am 26 years old and was often called the teacher’s pet back in my school days as I was always asking questions, eager to learn. I joined Date Train because I was curious as to how the whole process works…and this may be my first day, but I’m already amazed!”
“Stick to the script…” someone whispers to Ludleigh,
“Oh…uh, y-yeah… My advice is, it’s okay to be shy, but never neglect doing good for those around you,” Ludleigh says.
The camera then pans to another guy who has one brown eye and one green eye. His short spiky brown hair hangs a bit lower past his right ear. Under his green eye is a dark birthmark of some sort. He stares around a bit and then says, “My name is Thomas Eather. I am 19 years old and I LOVE helping others. There’s nothing I love more than helping people transport stuff. I joined Date Train in hopes of making a woman’s heart happy. My best advice is, never fall asleep at your desk if you work an office job…” ~A bit of laughter occurs~
Next, the camera is pushed over to a guy with warm brown sugar skin. His hair is in between curly and spike hanging to a little past his chin. Unlike the other guys, this one wears glasses. He grins confidently and says, “My name is Andey Bowrobo. I am 24 years old and I graduated top of my class back when I was a teenager. I joined Date Train looking for a woman with a good sense of humor. My advice is never go easy on the back slaps when meeting another guy…but NEVER slap a woman!”
The guys are rotated out and a ninth guy makes an appearance. This guy has smooth black hair and a broad nose. His hair sticks out on the left side almost to his shoulder. He gives the audience a quirky side glance, leaning a bit to the side before saying, “My name is Brent Akertson. I am 33 years old and I love fishing! I joined Date Train because I feel like I can make the biggest catch of my life here. My advice is, if someone offers you food, TAKE IT! Unless said person is mega sus…” ~more laughter~
The next guy to appear is a guy with light blonde hair and dark skin. The other guys seemed pretty confident or cheery, but nobody can beat this radiant of an aura. The guy waves and says, “Hiiiii! I’m Tate Distan! I’m 29 years old and I get a thrill out of rescuing people. I joined Date Train hoping to “rescue” a woman from loneliness. My advice is always hope for the best even when things get tough.”
~Loud clattering and banging noises occur. The crowd is murmuring~
Some guy who looks like he just got out of a drunken street fight makes an appearance. He’s got red ginger hair, gray eyes, and a snaggle tooth on the left side of his mouth. His clothes are ripped and torn from whatever just happened. He stops glaring and smiles menacingly before saying, “My name is Mikson Johnark! I am 35 years old and I’m not like the other guys. I’m a million times better. I joined Date Train because I figured I could get a date and destroy some guys in a competition at the same time. I say if someone disrespects you, eat them… Just kidding! That’s a joke! I’m joking! If someone disrespects you, respect yourself and leave.”
The twelfth and final guy is panned to. He is by far the oddest looking man of the crew with his long hair dyed lavender with little orchids woven in. He’s dressed in a ridiculous wizard costume and his dark skinned face is adorned by two small mustache tufts. He shakes his fist at the other guys who are unseen off camera before saying, “My name is Moalu Toash. I am 333- I mean… 33…years old and I’m a pottery wizard. I joined Date Train looking to cast a love spell on our lovely woman contestant… My advice? Trust the magic! Us magicians wouldn’t lie to you!”
The camera does a complete whirl around. The woman contestant makes her appearance, blushing heavily. She’s a lovely woman with blue gray eyes and long wavy black hair. She’s dressed in a funny suit that is blue on one side and orchid purple on the other side. She says, “My name is Lialeli Osahntrai. I am 27 years old and I am a passionate woman who loves parties, poolsides, and dancing! I joined Date Train because I am VERY lonely and I know there are so many great and eligible men in the area…and now is my chance to meet to love of my life! You have no idea how excited I am about this! Oh my gosh! Can we begin now?!”
“And CUT!” the director calls out. “That was a good intro! People LOVE this kind of thing.”
“Yay! I love it when people love things!” Tate cries out.
“What is YOUR problem? You must be hiding something. Normal people aren’t that cheerful,” Alvin comments.
“Hey, hey now… We don’t have to fight… It’s literally just a TV show. We can all be friends, because, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter!” Jackery says, dramatically twirling his cape.
“Yeah… Jackery’s right. No matter how nice we are to Lialeli, all that matters is the script. If it says we are to be ejected from the show, that’s just that…” Ludleigh says, nervously scuffing one foot.
“I don’t trust any of you guys…” Alvin says, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
“And I’m just in it for the money. So don’t you guys get your hopes up,” Lialeli says with a scoff. “Hmm, I wonder who I’m supposed to pretend to like first… Hopefully not…YOU!”
Ludleigh flinches as Lialeli points to him, “Me?”
“Yeah, you! I can already tell we aren’t going to get along,” Lialeli declares.
