Teaser

A warm breath grazed my ear. "Morning,"

I squinted as I opened my groggy eyes in the shining hue of ray, streaks of sun falling on my face through the white drapes on the window.

I turned my back to the shining sun, rolling on the other side where I was being gazed upon softly by a melting shade of brown orbs.

I quietly closed my eyes again drawing my body closer to his, bathing in his comforting warmth, burying my face in his muscled chest. "It's too early."

He chuckled softly. "No, it's not, Aurora. It's time to wake up."

"You sleep too, Reuben," I whined peeking at him, drawing my face away from his chest with a pout.

There was a serene smile on his face as he gazed at me with an earnesty. It was intoxicating. Because I found myself smiling too.

His face was being shone upon by the ray of light falling onto him, enhancing the divinity to his beauty. His mocha hairs were tousled, giving him an enticing charm.

Looking at him longer had my heart flutter.

He was breathtakingly beautiful. And he was mine.

I brought my fingers to his head, running them over his sleek hairs as I looked at him with an overwhelming emotions flooding me. "I love you, Reuben."

This was the ultimate truth to me.

I love Reuben.

His smile deepened. A look of gratification was on his face. As if to be the one to be chosen for something exceptional.

He leant down to my lips, an inch away from them. I let in a shallow breath, closing my eyes as my heart galloped in exhilaration over an anticipation.

A second passed.

Another second passed.

A minute passed.

Inciness seeped though my body.

My heart was still pounding hard as I opened my eyes. A heavy dejection weighed my chest down, pressing me deeper, realizing me of empty bed I was laying on. The room was empty too. I was alone.

Reuben is gone.

Once again.

Forever.

A lone tear escaped my eye, running down my temple as a dim sound of beep in the background grew louder and louder.

My eyes fluttered open. The beep noise continously assaulting my ears. An aching frown creased my brow as my hand went to the nightstand pressing the alarm shut.

I sighed, sitting up. Feelings from my dream still weighing down on me.

My fingers traced my temple. It was drenched with tears. Again.

I looked to my right. Oliver was still out like a baby. Nothing could wake him when he was deep in his slumber. He looked so peaceful.

I smiled or tried to. But I couldn't. Not even if I wanted to. Not right after just waking up from it.

A year and a half and these dreams were still persistent.

Why couldn't these dreams go? Just like he did. For good.
