Prologue

Screams began to be heard throughout the town as a thick red smoke began to spread.

Men, women, and children began to be slaughtered.

Nothing could be seen because of the thick red smoke. The screams were so loud, and people tried to take cover.

Many couldn't make it to safety as they began to faint. Those who managed to take cover saw a very large black shadow dragging the bodies into the red abyss of smoke.

Call the police? They were a village very isolated from everything, the nearest city was a four-hour drive away.

The whole ordeal was agonizingly long. The sound of tearing flesh was disgusting, and the screams only proved that this creature was making them live through hell before killing them.

The worst part was that it didn't kill them all at once, but rather seemed to play with them before finally deciding to kill them.

Many tried to confront it, but they fainted or were torn to pieces before even striking a blow.

There were so many. So many.

It was a night that was too long.

When the sun rose and the smoke cleared, people began to come out only to see the streets filled with blood, but there were no bodies.

The bravest dared to follow a vast path of blood. They were armed to the teeth with whatever they could grab to defend themselves.

The traces of bloody, horribly large footprints led to a large cave where bears were known to take shelter. The men were horrified to see the remains of those enormous, strong bears at the entrance to the same cave.

They argued about whether to enter or not; the smell of blood and corpses was terribly strong and nauseating.

Many were unable to leave.

Those who returned spoke of a huge, beastly monster that had taken their companions.

"He'll come to kill us."

"His eyes and mouth were enormous."

"He had no teeth, but he ate their bodies with ease."

"His claws were sharper than any sword."

"He was always smiling."

"His eyes are like two points that lead to hell as soon as you see him."

"His voice... His voice was not of this world."

Everything was tried to kill him, but there were always casualties, and the town was dying.

They called for help, but no one believed the villagers in the middle of nowhere.

It was their end. The end of that small town in the middle of the wilderness

Then it happened

The beast demanded a sacrifice, a sacrifice of a woman to be his mate

Anyway, a beautiful woman was something any male would want

Many women were given over, most against their will, dragged into the cave where only their screams could be heard. The creature rejected them all and made them his next meal

"Boring, common, and pathetic," he roared. "Bring me a woman worthwhile. I don't want a simple woman like any other."

The town didn't know what to do and was starting to run out of people to sacrifice.

Then one glorious day she appeared.

She looked lost and disoriented. It was clear she wasn't from around there.

A black woman in a small white town.

They knew it at that moment.

She was the unusual girl the monster was asking for.
