A Miracle Too Brief

There were a couple, they didn't have any offspring, they were craving for a child, and they were asking God for a child in their prayers. After 7 years of marriage, God bestowed them with an offspring, and she was a cute little girl. They thanked God, and they became satisfied with their lives. They'd named her Emmy. When Emmy became 7 years old, they came to know that she had a disease of forgetting things.

She was forgetting everything, even her address. That's why her parents hadn't let her go out alone.

She grew up, and now she was 14. One day, her mother took her to a park. Emmy was so into visiting such places, when they were walking in the park, a friend of Emmy's mother came in front of them. Emmy's mother and her friend started a non-stop conversation about their college life, and Emmy was getting bored with their conversation. Soon after, she caught sight of a beautiful flower, which was attracting her ...It was not new for her to get attracted to such flowers as she was a nature lover. She couldn't help but go towards that flower as if she were under the spell of it. She got herself out of the sense while watching its charms after some time, Emmy turned around intending to get to her mother but she couldn't find her mother there.

She felt a shiver of fright running down her spine, but pulling herself together, she came out of the park to get home but she didn't remember her address...She cried her heart out and went pillar to post in search of her home, but the luck was defying her...

Similar to her, her parents also had gone to great lengths to find her. Her mother was cursing the moment when the thought of visiting the park had sprung to her mind, she was weeping involuntarily and fainted due to stress. Emmy's father took her to the hospital...Soon after, he was informed by someone about Emmy's whereabouts.

A ray of hope hovered on his face, he didn't waste a second to get there, as he saw Emmy from a distance. The tears welled up in his eyes. Finally, the spell of grief was about to end, he thought. There was only a road between them, and Emmy was on the other side of the road. He shouted, “Emmy! I'm here, my child!”.

Emmy burst into tears to see her beloved father. She got carried away and stepped onto the rammed road. Her father shouted again, “Emmy, no, ” but she couldn't help. She was about to reach the other side of the road, a few steps to get there as a fast-moving car struck her. She was lying on the road, bathed in blood, eyes stuck on her father, breathed her last...

Her father felt no ground under his feet, a child for whom they'd yearned for years and had been granted by their prayers was taken back.
