Prologue
Evil comes in all forms, being that of mortals and beasts alike. Power can be destructive or productive, depending on the point-of-view. The creature of boar and wolf genetics, arrived on the Isle of Castillion during its early construction in the 1800s, where it originated from, is unknown but for centuries it bred with boars and wolves, eventually killing them off, creating its own bloodline of disfigured beasts that the Isle’s residents defined them as the Boar-wolves, and over time, they grew in numbers evolving as their leader, grown in full maturity, learned the ways of mortal men, becoming far more aggressive and fierce. While their presence had been noted by the Master of the island, they never posed a threat to the residents until they began kidnapping women over the years, for what purpose was unknown.
But in the year 2027, they forced the island’s residents’ hand upon kidnapping an innocent child, which began tipping the scale.
The Great City’s Lord, Drakuul Lexus, had always been such a troubled individual in the ways of wanting more than what he had, presenting issues for his adoptive mother, so to speak. She had taught him the arts of Necromancy and other darker, forbidden magics, and once reaching the age of 21 years, he realized he was an Immortal. Where that gene came from, was unknown to him but liking the power it gave him, only added to his thirst for more. Posing a threat and competition for his guardian Lexa, he killed her, gaining possession of her estate, fortune and all of her magical knowledge, items and books. He was unhappy with the life of parties and gatherings of the Parisian society so leaving Paris, with his brother Matrx who provided physical protection, Drakuul gained more than he bargained for. Over the years, learning all of the magical and forbidden practices known within this world, he discovered the existence of the Book of Solomon that would grant him, or anyone that possessed it, ultimate power. His search was endless, but selling his soul and that of his brothers, he was bestowed unlimited power and magical capabilities, and after that, he took what he thought was owed to him, even if that meant taking over the once glorious Great City. He tips the other side of the scale, but which will lead to the ultimate balance?
All choices and decisions have unforeseen consequences.
