PROLOGUE
The moon bloomed in the starry night of New York City. Cars streamed by, people walked the pavement talking, laughing, going home after a long day of work. But one man didn’t go home, Norman Osborn. He stared down at the city below in his office at Oscorp, thinking, thinking and thinking on how to save his life from the deadly disease that wants to claim it.
“Mr Osborn”, a voice broke him out of his thoughts, but he didn’t take his gaze from the city.
“You have a visitor. A Doctor Earl Morris”, said the voice.
He walked over to his desk, pressing a button on his telephone, he replied, “Let him in”
The door creaked open and a nervous yet confident looking Earl Morris walked in.
“You know...”, Norman said his back to Doctor Morris. “....the last time we spoke I stripped you of everything you had because of your incompetence”
“And yet....”, Norman said turning to face Morris. “....now you stand before me. Hope you have a good reason?”, he said, now seating at his desk.
Morris cleared his throat and walked forward. “Yes I do actually. I’m sure you’ve seen the news about the crocodile man that robbed a bank”
Norman raised an eyebrow. “And that was your doing?”
Morris smiled, gazing at the city below. “The crocodile? Yes. The bank robbery? No. Indeed the last time we spoke you stripped me of all I had because I failed to find you a cure”. “But now...”, he said walking towards Norman's desk. “.....I bring salvation”. He dipped his hand into his coat and brought out a small vile of green liquid.
Norman immediately looked surprised but quickly covered it up. Doctor Morris noticed this and smiled even more.
“I know you want this”, Morris said. “Correction, you need this and I’ll give it to you. But it may have some......side effects”
“But it will save my life, correct?”, Norman asked.
“Yes”
“I must say Doctor......I’m impressed”, Norman said standing up from his chair. “So what do you want in return?”
Morris smiled. “A furnished lab for me to continue my research....and a little something from one of your labs”
Norman smiled. “You have a deal Doctor”
WRITER'S VOICE: All this happened almost a year ago. Later Morris was arrested thanks to a little birdie or rather rhino that needed maintenance. Unfortunately nothing traced back to Norman. He did a good job of erasing every connection he had with the doctor.
And now a new deal has been agreed to. One that will shake the foundation of a certain someone.
