Summary

This story revolves around a young girl and a young man by name Stephanie and Martins. Martins is a young man from a troubled past who ends up having a complex relationship with Stephanie, a charming young girl. After Martins get Stephanie pregnant, they go through love, family societal expectations which later led to an unexpected twist that changes their lives.

Chapter 1

A young girl called Stephanie, aged sixteen, from a humble background meets a certain young man by name Martins, twenty four year-old, from a successful home.

Stephanie's parents are poor farmers who do not have enough resources to send her and her siblings to school. She only has elementary knowledge.

Martins is also struggling to put himself through school even though his father can afford the fee. His father is a secondary school teacher. He owns lands and other properties. But his step mother wouldn't let him enjoy his father's love.

Martins had lost his mother from birth and was raised by his aunt, Sofia. She is the younger sister of Martins father, Harry Thompson. Sofia used to be a successful business woman, but her business crashed last year because of her health condition.

Martins' father remarried, Margaret, with whom he now has four girls with. Margaret also owns a restaurant in town and her business is flourishing.

Martins is now in grade four, he has moved in with his dad and step mother. He begs him one evening to see him through school. He promises his dad to Produce the best results. His father agrees to it but he goes and tells his wife Margaret about Martins request. She then convinces him not to send Martins to school, claiming that he is a man who should learn to take care of himself.

Harry is very uncomfortable with Margaret's suggestion but gives in to her demands when she fakes a cry, saying that he never listens to her and doesn't love her.She further succeeds in convincing him to only pay attention to their daughters, saying, that they need more attention because they are girls.
