Unexpected visit
Holly was now living in Dudley's old bedroom. Improvement from the cupboard under the stairs, but the situation overall was still bad. Still less food and ugly clothes, beating still happened although less frequent than a year ago mostly because Dudley would throw all of his problems on her. Most days, she just spent time in her room watching films, she bought secretly, or looking through the family photo album, Hagrid gave her.
It was the end of August. Holly was extremely looking forward to returning to Hogwarts. One thing however weirded her out. She received no letters. Not from Rhonda, not from Amaryllis or Gemma, Astoria, Pansy or Daphne. The Dursleys had important business meeting, that of course had to happen in their house, so they could boast about their most basic British middle class home. Holly was watching a movie and Hedwig the owl was trying to get out of her cage. "I can't let you out Hedwig. They would probably throw you out of the house." Then Vernon called out: "Holly Potter!" Holly said to herself: "Fuck off." And she went downstairs. The Dursleys were preparing for the meeting. Petunia baked a large cake and all were wearing formal clothes. Petunia didn't even look at Holly and said: "Here she is Vernon." Vernon said: "I warn you, if that bird doesn't stop it must go." Holly said: "And what do you expect when she's bored. She's supposed to be outside at least 2 hours a day." Vernon ignored it and said: "Pfft, so you could send letters to your freaky friends? Hell no." Holly just waved her hand and left. Before she went upstairs, she said: "I'll be completely silent and not existing." She then added to herself: "For your stupid fucking meeting instead of giving a damn about me."
She opened the door to her bedroom and was stunned by what she saw. There was a little humanoid creature with floppy ears, big eyes and pointy nose wearing some rags jumping on the bed. It turned around and said: "Holly Potter. Very honourable to meet you." And it bowed. Holly closed the door and said: "Who are you?" "Dobby miss, a house elf." Holly said: "Sorry for being rude, but come tomorrow." Dobby said: "Dobby understands miss, that it's not convenient, but Dobby came to tell you. It's complicated miss. Dobby doesn't know, when to begin." Holly said: "So come tomorrow and tell me everything. Now please get out." And she opened the window. Dobby refused: "If Dobby leaves now, Dobby will not be able to return. Dobby must tell everything now." Holly sighed: "Then focus and tell one thing at a time. So, why are you here?" Dobby said: "To tell Holly Potter, to warn her." Holly continued: "Is another Voldemort supporter in Hogwarts?" Dobby started to act weird. "Argh, can't. Say. It. Argh. Not. Saying. It." He then went to the closet and started to hit himself in the head and make loud noise.
Vernon heard the noise and told the business partners: "Ahh don't care about that, it's just a cat."
Dobby stopped hitting himself and Holly said: "What the fuck did you just do?" Dobby said: "Dobby had to punish himself miss. He almost talked bad about his family miss." Holly raised her eyebrow. "Family?" Dobby continued: "A wizarding family, where Dobby serves. Dobby has to forever serve one family and if they ever learn Dobby was here. . ." He shivered. "But Dobby had to come. Dobby has to protect Holly Potter. Warn her. Holly Potter must not return to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because of a plot. The most terrible things are supposed to happen." Holly said: "That's too bad for you, because I refuse to stay here. I'm going to Hogwarts to my friends." Dobby said: "That don't even write to Holly Potter?" Holly got suspicious: "And that you know how?" Dobby pulled out a stash of letters and said: "Holly Potter must not be mad at Dobby. Dobby hoped, that if Holly Potter thought, her friends forgot about her, she wouldn't even want to return to school miss." Holly pulled out her wand and cast multiple basic casts at Dobby knocking him down. She then took the letters and put them in her pocket. "Fuck you and your stupid family." She then tried to grab him and throw him out of the window, but he got up and ran downstairs.
Holly followed him and when she found him, he was looking at the cake. "What the fuck are you doing?" Dobby snapped his fingers and the cake was now floating in the air. Holly got extremely afraid. "Ok I'm sorry for hurting you. Let's get back upstairs. Just don't do this and don't beg me to stay here. That's the only thing I refuse." Dobby said: "Then Dobby has to do it. For the good of Holly Potter." Holly went completely pale and she froze in place. Dobby snapped his fingers again and the cake floated above the guests and when it was right above them, he snapped again and the cake fell right on them. Vernon said immediately: "I am incredibly sorry. That was my niece. She's crazy. Meeting foreign people distresses her, that's why I left her upstairs. Dobby snapped again and disappeared.
After this, the house turned into hell, just like before. Holly was beaten into unconsciousness despite being completely innocent. When she woke up, she was beaten again and she had no food. Vernon then put 7 locks on her door and bars on her window, so that she couldn't escape.
Few days later
Holly's hands hurt very bad. Legs and back also hurt, but not so much. She didn't get any notice from the ministry of magic, because no muggles saw her casting at Dobby. She was getting ready to sleep, but then she heard some movement around the house. The footsteps were coming towards her and when they were outside her door, she heard a familiar voice: "Alohomora." The locks on the door fell off and the door opened. It was Rhonda and Amaryllis. Holly couldn't believe her eyes. "Rhonda, Amaryllis, what are you doing here?" Rhonda said: "Saving you of course. Get your suitcase ready." Holly pulled out her suitcase from under the bed and the girls began to put everything important inside. Holly checked if she had everything. Clothes, invisibility cloak, wallet, endless pens and notebooks. Broom stayed at school. She then changed into her Slytherin t shirt and jeans. Amaryllis noticed the bruises and said: "I have some wiggenweld at home. Don't worry." Rhonda took Hedwig, Amaryllis the suitcase and the girls went outside. Amaryllis gave Holly a black leather jacket. "Happy birthday."
The girls went couple of blocks down and came into a nice white and blue house. Amaryllis said: "Welcome to our home Holly." The trio went inside and upstairs. There were 3 bedrooms. Amaryllis said: "Our parents sleep on the left side, me and Hermione sleep on the right side. You can sleep with Rhonda in the centre. But first come with me." Holly went with Amaryllis to her and Hermione's bedroom. Hermione was asleep. Amaryllis gave Holly a flask with the familiar green potion and Holly drank it and the bruises disappeared. Holly then went to the guests bedroom. She asked Rhonda: "When did you get here?" Rhonda said: "A week ago." She became uneasy. "I-I ran. Away. From home." Holly was very surprised. "Why? What happened?"
Rhonda said: "I just. I couldn't do it anymore. You'd think that after, what we did last year, the twins would finally leave me alone. They actually got worse. They wouldn't stop making fun of me and aunt just ignored it. She just cares about my cousin Ginny, who by the way, won't fucking shut up about you. Anyway, they always make snake noises around me and look at me like I am some dark bitch. They even tried sneaking into my small room, which also, I have the smallest fucking room in that house. Every time, they tried to sneak in to see me "do some dark spells" and it would make me do that, Amaryllis called it panic attacks, what happened with the fucking snare. I didn't feel safe in my own home. What threw me over was, that they did it again and this time I couldn't hold myself. I cast expulso at them. They dodged it and it instead flew into their room and it destroyed it with all of their joke items. And who got into trouble and yelled at?" Holly said: "You." Rhonda nodded and continued: "Aunt was yelling at me for like eternity and I had that panic attack again. In front of everyone and no one did anything. At all. They saw me on the ground shaking and breathing very fast and they just fucking stood there. When it finally stopped, I just ran into my room and I just cried." She started crying herself.
After a few minutes Rhonda continued: "At night, I packed my suitcase and left. They betrayed me and my dead parents. Fuck them. I hope, that house collapses on them." Rhonda then cried more. Holly hugged her, comforted her and kept reassuring her, that it'll be ok. After a while they fell asleep.
