It provokes some thoughts and really makes you look deep inside yourself as you follow Siraja's journey through the darkest realities of humanity. The way it brings you hope at the end of the journey! Absolutely amazing! 10/10!"
Can 2 women start a new life after escaping evil and violence?...
"2 women escape from very horrific situations, including a situation where a man was about to sell them as slaves to someone... Will these women be able to live free from horrific oppression now that they’ve escaped? I’ve read the first 7 chapters of this book so far, and it starts off in a way where the reader is very shocked by the horrors that happen; and the courage of the women who escape is very admirable and inspiring. I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading the rest of it."
Light In The Dark World
"Hello! Before I start this, I'd like to first thank the author for writing this book! It held its potential with unexpected twists, along with emotional atmosphere! ❤ I'll have to admit, I never expected this book to be dark! I expected something, just not this! The first few lines shocked me! Yet, it left me curious and wanting to read more! Aira having to deal with Rabibakar's horrible actions was overwhelming. When she was escaping, I was cheering for her! No one deserves to go through what Aira went through! I was so glad to see that she escaped! 🥺 From the start, Aira was already going through a lot! She had to suffer through a horrible and vicious man, and all I ever wanted for her was to be free! To be with someone who would treat her right and show her love! Aira deserved the type who would be there for her! She deserved true happiness! It was truly heartbreaking reading what she had to go through... 🥺💔 And with another character, we had Siraja. What she went through... was traumatic. 💔 She couldn't forget it. She never forgot it and always remembered the trauma she had to endure! I wanted her to escape and find true happiness in her life! No one deserved to go through what Siraja went through... 🥺 Aira and Siraja met each other in a predicament. Coming up with a plan together and staying someplace, I figured they would become great friends! What I never thought of was the time skip! I never figured forty years would pass by! And that didn't just surprise me; that surprised a lot of readers! For many decades, they were hidden. They were safe. But Aira's death... that upset me. 🤧 Although she passed away, she was in peace. She was set free into a better place where no one could hurt her. I was shocked to find out that she died, knowing she was introduced as the first character... 🥺💔 Siraja thought of her every day, and it's what showed their true bonds of friendship. This many decades together, she thought of her every day! 🥺 It was emotional to watch her go on without Aira. Someone who she had spent decades with. She was always being chased, and she was always in hiding. It was like she couldn't get a break. But... things soon became better for her... ❤ When Siraja was on her own, on the run, I refused to trust anyone who met her. But that was until one person who met her and helped her! And because of that one man, Siraja started to have better days. She was starting to feel free. Such as Aira, who was set free by being in a better place. Siraja was free, and due to being surrounded by kind people, she began getting deeper into Islam, and I loved it! It was truly heartwarming! Siraja began feeling at peace with Islam in her life, and that's how it is in reality! Once you get deeper into Islam and start reciting the Quran, you'll feel at peace no matter what! This was such a heartwarming moment! It was then... Siraja was set free by living in peace... 🥺❤ The story is truly emotional, and it was probably the most emotional story I've ever read. The ending was great, and I would've loved to see Aira and Siraja together living in peace with happiness among themselves. This is an incredible story! Well done! ❤"
Light- an in-depth story that holds so much knowledge.
"This story on the characters Siraja snd her Friend Aira is a story that is full of injustice and cruelty. A very in depth piece with so much meaning and truth. A story that Abeer done amazing at, a real eye opener and with real understanding feeling the visualisation as you read on in every chapter going. Such a powerful story with heartbreak and you really get a sense and feel of the pain of these characters and what they go through. I feel this is a real educational piece as well and felt this story deserves a five start review. Simply powerful. Amazing work Abeer. "
Touching in The Best Way
"Siraja’s story is one of injustice and cruelty, and the opening chapters made me sure of that. Not gonna lie, I was petrified when I first read the opening scene. It was like a punch to the face, a sign that this isn’t the usual Abeer novel. The bloodshed... the brutality... the rape scene (yes, there was offscreen rape 😶🌫️)... it was grim in the way that could make anyone lose hope in life! However, two women (Siraja and Aira) escaped this unjust fate, though the latter eventually (very eventually) did finally rest. Even when she turned old, she persisted for that glimmer of light, and she finally found it. Safety. Security. What’s really tragic about this is that she only ever received such comfort after more than 40 years of resilience; it’s really sad that she can no longer retain her youthful years after all that’s happened. Surely enough, that experience left a perpetual sort of distrust and cynicism in her, a belief that change is impossible, fair enough given what she’s seen. However, it wasn’t too late for her to see it. Islam entered her heart and renewed her hope, hope in people and in change. Even after everything that’s happened, she probably died in peace. The ending was in fact interesting and masterfully executed (not gonna spoil stuff anymore 😅), and it circles back to the theme of holding on to hope. Overall, it’s a story equal parts tragic and grim, and yet within it lies a persistent glimmer of light, one that all of us need to believe in. It’s a story that shows us how change is never too late, and undeniably so, it’s truly inspiring. Abeer’s best work yet by a mile 🤩!"

"Aira and Siraja live a daily life of terror, horror and abuse. Aira is married to the serial killer, Rabbibakar, a man who murders just for fun. When he believes Abi, his wife's brother owns him money, he responds by stabbing Abi to death and then scatters pieces of his body all across the desert to hide the evidence. He then decides to sell Aira to the local slaver. Whatever use could this woman be to him, other than to make money? Siraja doesn't have it much better. After the death of her husband, Siraja knows she must escape or be abused as a widow by the locals. She runs away in the middle of the night, barefoot and shivering until she meets Mehmut. He offers her food and shelter and introduces her to Aira whom Rabbibakar had recently attempted to sell as a slave. Mehmut promises safety for both of the exhausted and terrified women. But as usual with Author Abeer, nothing is quite as it seems on the surface, and in her latest novel 'Light' the plot takes an unexpected turn that I won't ruin for you by spoiling. Indeed I believe this is Abeer's darkest novel yet, and her best written too as she handles serious topics like misogyny and the common abuses that occurred in Medieval Arabian or Persian setting between 1000–1600 CE. At any rate this is my most favorite Abeer novel so far! "
