Sense
My name is Pen, and I am an artist who draws lots of art.
The art that I draw is often featured in art galleries, though I don’t really make much money from the art that I make.
But the point isn’t to make a lot of money because the point is that I just like drawing.
So, one day I was drawing an apple, and then the apple fell out of the paper!
This was very confusing to me, because my drawings had never come to life like that before, and I then began wondering if I was dreaming or hallucinating or something like that.
I mean, was it really possible that an apple that I had drawn had actually just became a real apple?…
Hmmm…
I then decided to munch on the apple a bit to see if it tasted like an apple should taste, and it did indeed taste like an apple should taste.
And I didn’t think that I would be able to taste something like this in a dream, and so it was beginning to seem more and more likely that this was actually just a very strange reality that didn’t make any sense…
But I supposed that lots of things didn’t make sense, to be honest…
For example, existence itself was a bit odd…
Like, how did consciousness first arise?, and did consciousness always exist?
But if consciousness always existed then consciousness would have to be eternal because it didn’t make sense for there to be a so-called starting point for existence.
After all, a starting point would defy the concept of cause and effect, and so the number of causes and effects would have to be eternal in order for existence to make any sense…
But, anyway, that’s all kind of off topic; but the point of bringing it up was to demonstrate that perhaps one need not be surprised if something doesn’t make much sense because our very existence arguably doesn’t really even make much sense!
But now we’re back to me and the apple that I had just taken a delicious bite out of; and we’re getting to the part where I then realized that if I could draw an apple and have it fall out of the paper then maybe the same thing could happen with other things that I might draw next!
Which meant that drawing could potentially get a bit risky at this point, to be honest…
I mean, like, what if I drew the Devil; and then the Devil jumped out of the paper and started tormenting me!
That wouldn’t be good…
And so this meant that now perhaps I’d want to be careful about what I might draw until I could figure out what was going on…
But the only way to figure out what was going on would be to keep on drawing, and so it made sense to draw something as long as it wasn’t the Devil or something like that…
And so hmmm…
What would make the most sense to draw next?…
Ummm…
Perhaps an ant?…
Just a regular friendly little ant!
And then I’d see if the ant would come to life or not!
And so I focused for a little while on doing an epic little ant drawing, and then once the drawing was finished the ant then crawled right out of the paper and over to the apple!
And, of course, the ant quite liked the apple; and so I guess good for the ant for being able to enjoy a yummy treat!
And so now I’d had 2 different drawings manage to escape from the paper that was in front of me, and I began wondering if it was the paper that was somehow magical or something…
And so I grabbed another piece of paper, and then I drew a banana on it.
And nothing happened.
And then I drew a banana on another piece of paper.
And nothing happened.
And then I drew bananas on lots of other pieces of paper too!, and nothing happened with any of those drawings!…
And then I began drawing a banana on the paper that the apple and ant had escaped from, and I had a sneaking suspicion that once the banana drawing was completed the banana would escape from the paper just like the apple and ant had managed to do…
