Chapter 1
It was a festival morning in a small, cozy household, and everyone was filled with joy. Mira’s birth had brought hope and happiness, making it feel like everything was finally falling into place. But as Mira slowly grew older, things around her began to change.
Sometimes, Mira wondered if it was somehow her fault. She started noticing things she hadn’t before—the way her parents quietly discussed selling their home, the hushed whispers, and the tension that seemed to hang in the air. One day, her parents packed up everything and fled their hometown, taking Mira and her older brother with them, running from a problem Mira didn’t fully understand.
Soon, Mira realized she was in a completely new place—her mother’s relatives’ home. At first, she thought, Maybe now life will be fun… a fresh start. But she had no idea that happiness never stayed around her for long. Her mother’s relatives looked perfect from the outside—smiling faces, warm greetings—but Mira and her family quickly learned the truth: behind that friendly mask lurked cruelty. They were trapped, forced to stay quiet, because their situation left them with no choice but to endure the hidden darkness around them.
As Mira grew older, she became a quiet, simple girl with soft, round cheeks that made everyone want to pinch them. She had a gentle charm, but she wasn’t the type to get comfortable easily.
School was a different world. Mira always sat alone, keeping to herself, and the other kids looked at her like she had landed from another planet. Whispers followed her everywhere: “That girl is so weird… always in the corner.” Yet, not everyone saw her as strange. Some teachers found her soft, innocent cheeks irresistible, often giving her gentle squeezes that made her blush, leaving Mira unsure whether to be embarrassed or secretly flattered.
Her school life remained a mess. All eyes seemed to follow her everywhere, making her uncomfortable and too embarrassed to say a word. Every day felt heavier than the last… until someone new came into her life—a boy named Levi, the same age as her, who somehow gave her the courage to finally speak up.
