Stargazer
The night sky always felt like a casket of secrets only she could listen to. When the rest of the world was healing from the chaos and devastation of the pandemic, she climbed the narrow path of the hills, notebook pressed to her chest, silence overpowering the surrounding noise. She glanced at the stars.
Her professor had told her; astronomy is the study of history, a history in which there is no darkness, whose light is made only to be read through your telescope.
She always felt like the universe was always listening to her, and somehow it always had an answer to her question.
She was fantasizing when suddenly she saw a moving light falling from the sky. She thought her eyes were deceiving, but then there was a sound and…..Boom, a bang A FLASH OF LIGHT.
She was stunned and wanted to run away from there; when she heard a voice. She could not bear it, she closed her eyes and perceived that voice and started running. Her fear was dispelled due to the strong wind and the sudden rain.
When she reached there, she was shocked by what she saw. It is a space ship, yesss a space ship. For an astronomy student, this is a moment so big, it feels like the universe paused to listen.
But if it was a space ship, someone must be piloting it.
An alien, this is more outstanding than a space ship.
She was roaming around the space ship when suddenly its door slammed open and a creature came out of it. Blood was oozing out from his hands, feet and head.
His space suit was torn from all sides, but even then his beauty did not diminish. As soon as her eyes land on him she thinks who is this boy ?
Seeing him felt something heeling, a feeling which she felt again. Who is he? And here? Is he our enemy? Or maybe even worse, he came to destroy us, The Earth. How can I be so stupid RUN yeah I should run from here. But I can’t because it’s so blissful. I should research about him, from where he came? UHHH What should I do?
“Uhm Hello? Who are you? And ummm.. Ah, where am -? Looking around he said
Yes I think the mission was successful. I finally landed on planet prithv.” his voice carry something known yet unknown
Planet prithv? The voice caught in her throat and laughter bubbled up Is he serious he can’t even say prithvi clearly, I think my professor was wrong maybe aliens aren’t that inteligent, how we think they are. Thinking she sees him trembling, says “Be careful you.” voice gently slipped out her tongue.
The voice surprised her , not sure was she warning him or herself.
Hearing her words his eyes land on her, “Beautiful” words split out his tongue effortlessly. Before she could speak anything , suddenly he fainted.
She ran towards him, scared someone might see him “uhh this is not the right time to faint space boy I want to know more about you. How did you come here? What made you come here? But first I think I…. biting her lips, glancing on his shoulder umm I need to hide you somewhere and clean your wounds.”
She took him to her secret place. The night was becoming more tense and dangerous, the dogs barking, the owls staring with bright big eyes and the trees getting more dense. She had never been here at this hour, it’s so quiet.
She tightened her grip around his arms and dragged him along the path. As they reach “Her Secret” place, hide in tall trees and bushes, made of tree bark, surrounded with flowers. So real yet feels unreal. That’s her comfort place, and this is the second time she is bringing someone here after years.
